Abu Dhabi Knight Riders opt to bowl
Pitch and Conditions: "It is 18 degrees. This wind is 25kph. 64 meter on one side and 70 on the other side. This pitch was used before and it was a low-scoring affair. Looks slightly dry and that might be the reason the groundstaff have left some grass. I am not expecting a huge total. The ball will stick to the pitch," inform Mike Haysman and Owais Shah.
Kieron Pollard: Not really. We are at the stage of the tournament where we have to play good cricket. The game is never over until it is over, that's what we took from the previous game. The bowlers were fantastic to defend that total. It gives us the belief that anything is possible. We have a few changes. We won't go through it. But yes, Rashid is gone. We have the depth in the squad to make up for Rashid's absence.
Jason Holder: We are going to bowl first again. It tends to be on the slower side at the start and then quickens up. We are trying to build some momentum, keep that going. Same squad.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have won the toss and have opted to field
13:00 Local Time, 09:00 GMT, 14:30 IST: We’re heading into the business end of the tournament and the race for the playoffs is really heating up. Desert Vipers have sealed one spot, but the remaining five teams are battling for the other three, making every game crucial from here on. It’s a double-header day, and first up we have MI Emirates vs Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. Both sides sit on six points and a win tonight will take the victor up to second on the points table - so there’s plenty riding on this contest. These teams met just last week, when MI Emirates cruised to a 7-wicket win. But that came during a rough patch for the Knight Riders. Since then, they’ve hit back strongly with two consecutive victories and arrive with renewed confidence and momentum. The Emirates, meanwhile, have endured an up-and-down season, alternating between wins and losses and they’ll be desperate to break that pattern. Plenty of firepower on both sides, high stakes, and everything pointing towards a cracking contest. Toss and team news coming up..
