Malolan Rangarajan has been appointed as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the upcoming Women's Premier League cycle. He takes over from Luke Williams, who has served in that capacity since 2024.
With the upcoming season advanced and set to begin in early January, Williams will be busy with his commitment as head coach of Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.
Malolan, the former Tamil Nadu player, has served in various capacities with the franchise over the last six years. Over the last two years, he has served as the assistant coach of the women's team.
Speaking of his appointment, skipper Smriti Mandhana said, "I share great rapport with him and I've enjoyed our cricketing discussions. He's been a positive influence on the girls over the last three years and I'm confident of working well together, leading RCB to success in the upcoming season."
RCB finished fourth season after having emerged as champions in WPL 2024. They will be releasing their list of retained players, along with other franchises, on Thursday.
