Sharjah Warriorz vs MI Emirates, 6th Match

MIE

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
A thriller at Sharjah, but it's a double-header day and we're close to starting the night game in Dubai. Switch tabs and enjoy all the action. For now, cheers and bye..
Romario Shepherd, PotM - I just wanted to get the momentum with the bat, we lost a few wickets and they had the momentum. I worked on holding my shapen (on the thing done during during the off-season), that's something I've paid keen attention to. Also a positive batting attitude. I was just looking to hit the yorkers, Pollard said to me my over was left and I knew I had to bowl, so was ready with my plans.
Kieron Pollard, MI Emirates Captain - Very happy to be speaking as a winning captain. We showed that it's possible if you fight till the end. Loss of wickets together, we lost Pooran and Waseem together, they bowled well, but we got a good flourish at the end. With the ball, we held our nerves at the backend, thought the 16th over was the turning point. Horses for courses regarding the selections, the guys understand it well. But it's good to have competition for places.
Tim Southee - Sharjah Warriorz Captain - That's T20 cricket, the partnership between Raza and TKC was excellent, but we fell short in the end. We bowled well, but could have done a bit better, especially in the death overs. As a bowling side, you need to take wickets, they had them towards the end and that helped them get a few good blows (with the bat). We'll have to check and see (on Dinesh Kartik's injury)
17:50 Local Time, 13:50 GMT, 19:20 IST: Sharjah will wonder how they've lost this match. They were coasting along and needed 35 runs from the last 5 overs, but AM Ghazanfar's 16th over double wicket maiden turned it all around. He got rid of the dangerous pir of Sikandar Raza and Dwaine Pretorius and got his team back into the contest. TKC then stalled a bit and Dinesh Karthik couldn't get going - it all boiled down to 11 needed off the last over, still a doable task, but Romario Shepherd nailed yorkers at will to defend the runs. First win of #ILT20 2026 for the Emirates while the Warriorz slip to back-to-back losses.

Shepherd to Adil Rashid, 1 run, no. he can't - MIE have somehow scripted a superb turnaround and they win this match by 4 runs - clutch death bowling from Shepherd, nails another yorker on middle and Rashid can only dig it out to mid-wicket
6 needed off the last ball - can Adil Rashid be the hero for Sharjah?
19.5
Shepherd to Southee, byes, 1 run, another near perfect yorker from Shepherd - full and following cbat, he swings and misses, they sneak in a bye
Tim Southee, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Shepherd to Karthik, out Caught by Fazalhaq Farooqi!! Shepherd is doing the job for MIE - a limping Karthik hobbles off, he injured himself while digging out the yorker last ball, he now attempts the reverse sweep - but this is a slower ball and he has no pace to work with, lobs it tamely into the hands of Fazalhaq at backward point. Shepherd to Karthik, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
19.3
Shepherd to Karthik, no run, beautifully bowled, that's a pin-point yorker at the pads - Karthik jams his bat down and squeezes it out - 7 needed off 3 balls
19.3
Shepherd to Karthik, wide, Karthik will feel he missed out here - full-toss down leg and he could've swung it over long leg, collects a wide instead
19.2
Shepherd to Adil Rashid, 1 run, nicely bowled, yorker length delivery on the pads and Rashid can only flick it to short fine - 8 needed off 4 balls now
19.1
Shepherd to Karthik, leg byes, 1 run, full-toss on the pads and Karthik misses out, came off the pad and rolled to the on-side - 9 needed off 5 balls
19.1
Shepherd to Karthik, wide, Shepherd to bowl the 20th over and he starts against his RCB mentor with a big wide down leg

Zahoor Khan to Karthik, 1 run, slower short ball - hacked away through mid-wicket for a single. 11 needed off the last over
18.6
Zahoor Khan to Karthik, wide, back-to-back wides and the pressure is egtting onto Zahoor - was the attempted slower ball and he spilled it miles outside off - 12 needed off 7 balls now
18.6
Zahoor Khan to Karthik, wide, the wide yorker, Karthik went chasing after that and missed, but it's past the tramlines and has been wided. They've reviewed though - did DK move across his stumps? Or is the review for a possible caught behind? It's for the latter - no bat and MIE have lost the review
