PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's it for this one. We will be there for Qualifier 2 tomorrow. See you then. Bye for now.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius | Player of the Match: Yeah, I was thinking of kicking my stumps over after that first over, to be honest. But yeah, we all knew as a batting lineup we had to step up with Dav not being able to play. We feel like it leaves a massive hole in our batting lineup but we all stepped up and I'm glad we did. (how do you keep yourself calm?) Yeah, I just think it's sticking to the same processes and backing up your training and building up to the game, backing up those things. Yeah, it's just really cool and awesome to have a coaching staff like we do and players like we do. A lot of senior players that back you and yeah, it's really cool. (on tomorrow's game) Yeah, so I think a good night's rest will be a good start. Obviously, the Sunrisers are a world-class bowling attack, so reset, refocus and then hopefully go again tomorrow. (on the crowd support here) Yeah, really hope so. A lot of my mates came to support as well. I just kept getting asked for tickets, which is quite cool. But yeah, thanks for all the support. It really means a lot to us as players and it always fires us up.
Dan Lawrence | PR captain: Yeah, absolutely. It was a very clinical performance with the bat and the ball. And it's really nice to play kind of a near perfect game in a knockout game. So yeah, over the moon. (consistent partnerships with bat) Yeah, I think what I was really happy with was how much intent everyone had with the bat. And we tried to push the game along because we know it's a high-scoring ground. And yeah, thankfully, from top to bottom, everyone put a shift in and batted beautifully. (bowlers) Yeah, they were outstanding. Obviously, Bjorn's been amazing all tournament, bowling his left-arm spin in the powerplay. And Hardus was absolutely outstanding today with control of length and line. And yeah, that really set the game up for us to win. Yeah it was outstanding. (fielding) Yeah, I mean, like I said, it was as near as a perfect T20 performance as you're going to get. And yeah, everyone put an amazing shift in. And yeah, it was a pleasure to be out there kind of watching it. (on tomorrow's game) Yeah, it certainly will. Obviously, tonight's a big confidence booster for us. And we know that they are a high-class team. So we know we're going to have to be at our best. So lots of rest and recovery tonight and then away we go again tomorrow.
James Vince | JSK captain: I don't know, you guys spoke about it being... you're looking like it's going to be a good wicket, obviously the ball flies a bit. Fairly small boundaries, but chasing that much is always going to be tough. I think, you know, we've slightly off in all areas of the game this evening. Credit to them. Every time we got a wicket, the partnership grew quite quickly and they kept taking the game on and finding the boundaries. It's quite hard for us to build that pressure and keep them below 200. Having said that, I think there was the opportunity to chase that down. Obviously we didn't get off to a great start. 30-odd short in the end, and it felt like we were a long way off, but it just shows, you know, if you get a partnership going, the boundaries can be fairly easy to score here. (on missing key players in the comp) Yeah, absolutely. There's been, missed a few big players.... no getting away from that fact, but it has created opportunities for some other guys to come in and guys who have played well. So, I guess given where we're at and a reflection on how we're playing, it's probably fair that we've not progressed any further, but of course coming into tonight, we were full of belief that we could keep going in this competition. But yeah, it wasn't to be this evening. (on their supporters) Support has been amazing throughout the competition, not just this evening here, our home games and some of our away games as well. So, yeah, I've been thoroughly impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the competition. The fans have come out in their numbers every game. So, yeah, thanks to those fans and hopefully we'll be back stronger next season.
21:11 Local Time, 19:11 GMT, 00:41 IST: Paarl Royals will play Sunrisers in Qualifier 2 tomorrow. They've won this Eliminator very convincingly after putting on a total that was a challenging one on a two-paced Centurion pitch with variable bounce. The batters well and truly stepped up after a couple of quiet games. There were contributions right through the order, starting with the openers, and then the bowling was clinical. Hardus Viljoen breathed fire with the new ball, and the spinners kept things very tight as JSK tumbled to 40/4 inside the powerplay. No coming back from there in such a big chase. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...
