West Indies have won the toss and have opted to bat
12:55 Local Time, 23:55 GMT, 05:25 IST: The series might be gone for the West Indies but they ran New Zealand close in both games. There wasn’t too much to separate the sides as both games saw final-over finishes. That should bolster the visitors’ confidence as they seek a consolation win in the third ODI here at Seddon Park in Hamilton. Shai Hope led by example in the previous game with a superb ton. It wasn’t quite enough as New Zealand, powered by Mitchell Santner’s cameo, completed a tense chase in the rain-curtailed game. The series might be over for the West Indies but as Hope himself remarked, they aspire to be a great team and to achieve that, they “have to keep winning against the best.” Here’s another opportunity to do just that. Stick around for the toss and playing XI updates.
