Jamie Smith and Duckett are at the crease. Jamie Smith is on strike. Jacob Duffy will open the attack
Another toss has gone against the visitors and their batters will once again be put to the test in conditions where the ball is expected to do something. They lasted only 36 overs in both Mount Maunganui and Hamilton. Will they bat the full 50 today?
Teams:
New Zealand (Playing XI): Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(w), Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner(c), Nathan Smith, Zakary Foulkes, Blair Tickner, Jacob Duffy
England (Playing XI): Jamie Smith, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook(c), Jos Buttler(w), Sam Curran, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid
Brook: Would like to win a toss at some point in the near future. Want to play with a smile on the face, play with freedom and have fun. Just going out there, having a bit of presence with the batting and put them under pressure. Same team.
Santner: Bowling first. Looks like a good wicket, bit of grass on and feels soft. One change - Kane has got a little niggle in the groin, Conway comes in. Good place to be in, selection sometimes becomes a headache, have got a pretty good group. No such thing (as a dead rubber).
New Zealand have won the toss and have opted to field
All set for the toss..
England didn't have much to take away from their performance in Hamilton, but the one heartening thing was the way Jofra Archer made his mark, bowling with a lot of gas and making life difficult for the batters.
1.05pm local: Hello and welcome to the third and final ODI between New Zealand and England. The series is already decided with the hosts leading 2-0, extending England's misery in a format in which they've lost six of their last seven bilateral series. Their batters, with the exception of captain Harry Brook, haven't been able to adapt to conditions after being put in for two straight games with the toss favouring New Zealand. They have one last chance to come good and salvage something.
