PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Chinmay Rajesh Sutar

Amit Dani | Royals' Head Coach: From day one, after the auction, we had the balance that no other team had although we didn't have any big stars. The way we chased this tournament, I was 110% sure that we'll win tonight. The way we chased 181 (against ARCS Andheri), that match gave us a lot of confidence. Dedicate this victory to Abhishek Nayar. He has plenty of coaching experience, he made our job easier.

Sahil Jadhav: In the dug-out, the message was simple - maximise in the powerplay. I always back my game which is to score quickly in the powerplay. I tried that again today but unfortunately got run-out.

Sachin Yadav: We lost two wickets early and there was a great need for a partnership. That's what Chinmay and I tried. Our seniors backed us throughout, that felt good.

Chinmay Sutar: Our mentor is very cool and we were also very cool on the field. I would like to thank the crowd for turning up in numbers. There was a bit of pressure but all my focus was on batting. After I finished batting, that's when I realised how many people had turned up. Raje is made for situations like this.

Irfan Umair: Was backing my strengths and was backing my role. Was able to execute well. It's a big deal for this tournament to happen, we were all looking forward to it, very happy to win it. Was not tensed, had belief in our batters, luck was in our favour as well.

Rohan Raje: I like situations like this, perfect for me. Always like batting under pressure. There's always some pressure, I felt like I was made for something like this, have won matches like this in the past.

Maxwell Swaminathan: Can't describe the feeling, from where we started and overtook everyone. We were down after the match against the Blasters, we had to regroup and we did. We will all party.

23:06 Local Time, 17:36 GMT, 23:06 IST: The players come charging out from the dugout to embrace the two batters in the middle. Abhishek Nayar, their mentor, calmly shakes hands in the dugout. Dejected faces in the Falcons unit. They were poor on the field, dropping chances and giving away runs through sloppy efforts. They didn't have enough on the board either, despite the best efforts of Mayuresh Tandel and Harsh Aghav. 158 was the target for the Royals and they seemed in control for the most part, even though it went to the final over. Chinmay Sutar dropped anchor with a fifty and Awais Khan Naushad provided the big hits towards the end to get them over the line. Stay tuned for the presentations.

Akash Parkar to Rohan Raje, 3 runs, short and wide, Raje slaps it wide of long-off and gets back for two. Oh hang on, there's a direct hit and they've managed to sneak in the third run off the ricochet. The celebrations can begin for the Royals as they clinch the title at the Wankhede!

18.2

kartik Mishra to Awais khan Naushad, FOUR, dropped! The ball bursts through the hands and hits the fielder right on the face! Fired in full, Naushad looks to launch down the ground but doesn't quite get under it. Should've been taken at long-on but it's another error on the field from Falcons. The injury doesn't look too serious thankfully
