TSK 181/4 (20)
LAKR 124 (17.1)
Texas Super Kings won by 57 runs
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Noor Ahmad

The Super Kings have started with two wins from two games. They’re looking like a formidable unit. They’ve got batters who’re in form and a bowling unit that’s slicing through oppositions. Noor Ahmad’s 4/25 was the highlight of today’s show. That’s all we’ve got from this game, but stay close because the action doesn’t stop here. MINY are taking on SFU shortly in the second game of the day. Just hop tabs and we’ll catch you there!

Faf du Plessis: Nice start, we were very good with the ball on a tricky pitch. Our bowling was really good, definitely an improvement from the previous game. Scratched our way to a total, not a surface where you could come and hit sixes all the time. Devon Conway showed that proper cricket shots are the way to go on a pitch like this.

Noor Ahmad | Player of the Match: Everywhere I go, I just try to keep it simple and go with the basics. Here the length is very important. Just tried to hit the right areas and it worked for me. The environment is very good on and off the field, I'm enjoying.

The presentations are just about to begin...

LAKR's 124 is the lowest score in MLC 2025

Sunil Narine: We did well with the ball, it was a decent wicket. We could've done a little better, maybe kept them down to 15 runs less, it was a chaseable total. We need to take responsibility and not lose wickets in clusters. Hopefully they'll be here and be ready for the next game. Hopefully we can keep bowling the way we're bowling and do a little better with the bat.

17:30 Local Time, 00:30 GMT, 06:00 IST: Two defeats in two days for the LAKR, their campaign hasn’t got off to a desirable start. Chasing 182, they were under the pump pretty early. Milne trapped Fletcher in front early and while Hales struck a couple of eye-catching shots, including back to back sixes off debutant Wiig, before holing out. Nitish Kumar and Saif Badar then fell in quick succession to leave their side reeling at 43/4. Chand, who batted superbly last evening, then had to drop anchor and things looked a little brighter during his partnership with Tromp. It didn’t last long though as he was castled by a Daryl Mitchell delivery that kept low. Then it was the Noor Ahmad show, he scalped both Russell and Narine in the same over to all but seal LAKR’s fate. Van Schalkwyk played some impressive shots during his 21-ball 27 but it had little bearing on the result for the game was already out of LAKR’s hands.

17.1

Milne to Sangha, out Bowled!! That'll do, Milne helps himself to a second wicket! Length delivery on off-stump, Sangha gave himself a lot of room and just hung his bat out at it. He got no bat on it and lost his off-stump. Sangha b Milne 1(2)

Milne to Sangha, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

16.6

Zia-ul-Haq to Ali Khan, FOUR, he's having a bit of fun! Length delivery on middle-leg, Zia-ul-Haq strayed in line and Ali Khan used the pace to whip it away to the deep backward square leg ropes

16.5

Zia-ul-Haq to Ali Khan, no run, yorker on middle, giving nothing to the batter here, Ali Khan digs it out into the leg-side

16.4

Zia-ul-Haq to Ali Khan, no run, goes again and misses, full and just outside off, big swing and a miss

16.3

Zia-ul-Haq to Ali Khan, SIX, now then, that's a huge strike! Full and on the pads, Ali Khan picked it up and dunked it over the ropes at deep square leg, he enjoyed that, litte fist-pump after hitting that

16.2

Zia-ul-Haq to Sangha, 1 run, short of length outside off, Sangha stays leg-side and runs it down to third man

Tanveer Sangha, right handed bat, comes to the crease

16.1

Zia-ul-Haq to van Schalkwyk, out Caught by Conway!! Straight up in the air and Conway isn't dropping those! Dug in short outside off, van Schalkwyk had a swing across the line and could only manage a top-edge, it went straight up and Conway moved a few steps back and to his right before taking it easily. van Schalkwyk c Conway b Zia-ul-Haq 27(21) [4s-2 6s-2]

Zia-ul-Haq to van Schalkwyk, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

Zia-ul-Haq [2.0-0-17-0] is back into the attack

Timeout. Safe to say that the writing is on the wall, nearly 70 needed off 24 with just 2 wickets in hand, nothing short of a miracle will do for LAKR. They'll want to try and get as close as possible for the sake of NRR though.

15.6

Milne to van Schalkwyk, 1 run, slower delivery on middle-leg, van Schalkwyk eases it into the off-side for a quick single
