Toss -Australia opt to bowl
As expected, Mitchell Marsh returns to the XI to bolster that batting lineup. Glenn Maxwell will be heavily involved with the ball today in that case since Ashton Agar has made way for Marsh. Bangladesh have brought back Mustafizur Rahman.
Build up
Not so long ago, Bangladesh were running rings around the Australians at home. Those wins came on surfaces that invited a lot of criticism for being extremely tacky and it's no wonder that Bangladesh haven't been able to replicate the same amount of success on the bigger stage. As the tournament edges closer to its climax, it is Australia that still stands a chance at making it to the last four. They were impressive against South Africa and Sri Lanka but a heavy loss against England did dent them big time.
The batting unit failed in unison in that encounter and Australia would dearly love to rectify that. Mitchell Marsh will be in contention to return to the XI but it's the big three of Warner, Finch and Smith that needs to set the platform. The seamers did struggle to contain Buttler last game but against a Bangladesh lineup sans Shakib, expect them to regain their mojo. Australia's chances of progressing will increase big time if they can win their remaining two games starting from today. But they will still need England to do them a favour against South Africa.
Bangladesh on the other hand have found the going tough in the Super 12 stage losing all four games so far. They have been knocked out of contention and have only pride to play for today. It will be interesting to see if they bring Mustafizur Rahman back for this fixture. Considering this is their final game, expect Bangladesh to play with freedom. Can they do South Africa a favour? We will find out over the next few hours.
