KKR ARE DONE AND DUSTED!Delhi Capitals have done it and it's been a superb bowling and fielding effort from them in the end. After Rabada got taken to the cleaners, Nortje came back spectacularly to get Eoin Morgan and break the stand with Tripathi that was threatening to take the game away from Delhi. Morgan's 18-ball 44 and Tripathi's 16-ball 36 would've given KKR hope, but it was left too much for the end.
It prompts the question of whether KKR missed a trick by one, sending Russell in at No.4 instead of maybe a Morgan, and what exactly was Tripathi's role in the XI if he was sent even after Pat Cummins despite being a specialist batsman. DC will be relieved with the win after having their hearts in their mouths in that passage of play.
Shreyas Iyer, earlier, led Delhi to a massive 228 in their 20 overs. In the end, the win took them to the top of the table after restricting KKR to 210/8. Like we've seen in the past few games in Sharjah, no total is safe enough here. But all the sides need is some application at the top to get the job done. In the end, DC will go home with an 18-run win.

think tank.
not sure that Narine is the right opener given that he isn't scoring runs at the top, plus DK is finding it hard.

Prithvi Shaw has gotten Delhi off to a good start. Dhawan is still finding his feet, meanwhile. How many runs do you think DC will get batting first? Write in @kritzika.
Here we go. DC's openers are in the middle and Cummins has the ball.
TOSS: KKR opt to bowl. Kuldeep dropped. DC bring back Ash
Oh boy, that sounds like a lot of runs (and sixes) in store today. It could be the day when finally the true-blue version of Andre Russell could be out. He's not had a typically devastating impact on an opposition yet. Sharjah's small boundaries and flat pitch might just be his favoured playground. A lot of pre-series murmurs had made the rounds about promoting Russell up the order, so this game might just be perfect for that decision. Dinesh Karthik has played at #4 so far but it'd be prudent to let the West Indian loose should KKR lose a couple of early wickets.
DC will have their task cut out against the big-hitter but they have an ideal weapon up their artillery too - by the name of Kagiso Rabada. The South African quick cleaned up Russell with 147 kmph ripping yorker in the Super Over when these two sides met in Delhi last season. Rabada has also started this season really well.
It would also be interesting to see if KKR pick this game to ease Tom Banton into their side as Sunil Narine's returns with the bat have been dwindling. Our statsman Deepu wrote about it in detail.
