Masood followed Abid by reaching his fifty, showing his class by lofting Perera high and handsome over long on. He soon reached his fifty with a double off Kumara. Responsible innings from the southpaw. During the course of the inning, he also completed 1000 Test runs!

Abid finds his zone

Pakistan versus Sri Lanka - Day 2 - turned out to be another topsy-turvy day. Chandimal's 74 helped Sri Lanka take the upper hand, with the visitors gaining a healthy lead of 80 runs. However, Pakistan's opening duo of Abid Ali and Masood shared an unbeaten 57-run stand to bring the deficit down to just 23.
The day also belonged to Shaheen Afridi who bowled with penetration and bagged his maiden five-wicket haul in Tests. Mohammad Abbas also gave a good account of himself and ended up with a four-for.
