One brings two...
One brings two as Bairstow followed Roy back to the hut. He tried the big heave, but his bottom hand took over, and he was beaten by the inward movement. Bowled. Good delivery from Adair.
Roy and poor form
Roy's poor form continues. Young with the wicket. A hint of shape on the away-going with Roy pushing hard at it to eke out an edge to the slip cordon. The Ireland camp is chuffed to bits.
Toss and teams:
Ireland have elected to field. A change in strategy from the visitors.
Good chance for the duo of Bairstow and Roy to build a stand while batting first. Tom Curran, as expected, returns to the England side. On the other hand, Ireland have picked Mark Adair. He is a vital cog of Ireland's set-up.
Teams:
England (Playing XI): Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow(w), James Vince, Eoin Morgan(c), Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Tom Curran, Saqib Mahmood
Ireland (Playing XI): Paul Stirling, Gareth Delany, Andrew Balbirnie(c), Harry Tector, Kevin O Brien, Lorcan Tucker(w), Curtis Campher, Mark Adair, Andy McBrine, Joshua Little, Craig Young
Eoin Morgan: "We would have bowled first. The wicket looks a lot better today. One forced change, Topley is out with a groin injury,Tom Curran comes in for him. The guys who have come in have been really impressive so far. Willey has found inroads with the new ball. There are plenty of changes and opportunities down the line."
Andrew Balbirnie: "We are gonna bowl first. It looks a pretty good wicket and it will stay similar as the day goes on. Simi Singh drops out, Adair comes in. There is a lot of experience in our squad outside the XI, but we need to give more exposure to our young guys."
Build Up:
Curtis Campher with the runs. Curtis Campher with the wickets. The promising all-rounder has been the fulcrum of the Ireland side through the course of the ODI series versus England. However, barring a couple of decent contributions from batsmen lower down the order, the rest of the batting unit has struggled to make an impact.
The Ireland camp would hope for the likes of Stirling, Balbirnie and co. to raise their game in the final ODI of the series. The experienced Porterfield could also get a chance. On a slightly positive, Joshua Little picked up a few wickets in the second ODI.
England, who have already wrapped up the rubber, would look for a clean-sweep. And as the series is a part of the Cricket World Cup Super League, there are 10 points up for grabs as well.
In the second game, Jonny Bairstow was in supreme form, cracking an imposing 41-ball 82. On the other hand, David Willey continued his good form with the ball. He also made a vital contribution with the bat in hand. Sam Billings too has made an impact in the series. There are a few injury concerns for England. Reece Topley will miss the final ODI with a left groin strain. Tom Curran looks set to make a comeback into the side.
