Here's what the players had to say:
Pollard: Similar situation. We could not capitalise in the powerplay and from there we were playing catch up. Cannot fault the bowlers. You don't want to think too far ahead but we have to deal with what is in front of us. Unfortunately, we could not get over the line in the series. We need to focus on our strengths and the Test team has been together for a couple of years and have been doing well. The guys are here and are looking forward to the series. We have to pick up ourselves and move forward.
Rashid: After having a bad ODI series it was nice to win the T20 series. It was a difficult wicket but we had to make 150 and then we have the bowling to defend that. As a professional player, you have to be cool and calm and it comes with experience. Yes, we lost the ODI series but we had the chance to win the T20 and Test series and that is what we spoke about. It is always great to have the senior players in the team and it is helpful for me as a young captain. It is fine, it is an Afghani rib and will be fine (referring to his injury while fielding).
Gurbaz | Man of the Match: I just wanted to bat longer and that is what the coaches wanted me to do. The management has backed me and it is my duty to bat deep into the innings and provide a good score.
Janat | Man of the Series: Thanks to the crowd for being here and supporting us. It is all about the team support and I just gave my 100 per cent. I try to back myself and back my skills.
Toss coming up in a few moments. Stay tuned!
Welcome back!
We're back for the third and final T20I with the series between the hosts Afghanistan and West Indies levelled at 1-1. Afghanistan proved just why they are a force to reckon with in the shortest format of the game last night as they snapped a four match losing streak at their new home - Lucknow - and levelled the T20I series to set up this exciting finale. Fag end of white-ball cricket for these two teams for now, and despite being whitewashed in the ODIs, Afghanistan would be really keen to pull this one off before the teams move to red-ball game for the solitary Test.
