NZ go down in the Super Over, again!

Rahul, Kohli have heaped more Super Over agony on New Zealand who just can't break the hoodoo. The duo fired India to their 14-run target with a ball to spare as Southee failed to do the job yet again.

The stand-in captain, who took the responsibility once more to protect a 'young attack', failed to execute his lengths properly under pressure. Rahul smashed a gigantic six off the first ball, before pulling the second away for four. That was more than enough cushion for Kohli who displayed his batting smarts to complete the 14-run target with ease.

New Zealand are finding ways to take things to tie-breakers, and then just aren't finding ways to win those tie-breakers. Four Super Over losses within 7 months, two of them back to back. That baggage is turning into something real sinister.

So we only have that much for you today. Only that much. Until the next Sup .. shhh .. don't say it. Goodbye!

Bumrah goes for 13

It's an improvement over his effort from the previous match, and it could've been even better if not for the two dropped catches. Interestingly, Bumrah opted to go back of a length for all but one delivery - the final one was the attempted yorker. Back in Hamilton, he'd failed to execute at least three yorkers which ended up costing big. Anyway, India have to chase 14. It'll be Southee again after a long discussion with Williamson and coach Stead.

Another Super Over

How?! How?! Just how have New Zealand taken this to a Super Over. They had no business letting this go there. They had 7 wickets in hand to score 7 runs from Shardul Thakur's over!

Ross Taylor slogs the first ball and Shreyas Iyer holds on to a nice catch. Half-centurion Seifert is caught short by a direct hit from Rahul while scampering for a single. Daryl Mitchell hit a 4 and then fell to a knuckle ball! With 2 to win off the final ball, Santner could get just 1 to sweeper cover and is run-out while coming back for the second! Absolute scenes!!

To comprehend just how big a loss this could be, you'll just to have read this special from our man Bharat Sundaresan. Here's an excerpt

That's his Zen. The concept of being in the zone varies for each of the megastars of modern-day batting. For Steve Smith, it's when he's at his most eccentric. For Virat Kohli, it's when he's at his most intense. For Joe Root, when he's both confident and fidgety. The Williamson zone, however, has always been one of extreme calm. For good measure, he also keeps blowing into his gloves just to make sure even his hands are as cool as his head.
