New Zealand bowlers returned well to restrict England to 166 for 7 in a chase that seemed to be going in England's favour for most parts. In a period of 17 balls since Eoin Morgan's fall, England lost four wickets for only 10 runs, and the momentum shifted completely. The base set courtesy Dawid Malan's fifty and James Vince's 49 went in vain as New Zealand dominated in the death overs to register a 14-run win and go 2-1 up in the five-match series. Lockie Ferguson and Blair Tickner were the pick of the bowlers, returning identical figures of 2 for 25.
WICKET Lockie Ferguson joins the party. Knocks over Lewis Gregory's legstump. The chase, which looked truly in their favour only a few minutes away, is now only running away from England.
WICKET Blair Tickner returns to bowl and strikes the big blow. James Vince departs one short of a fifty. New Zealand are making quite a contest of this!
WICKETS New Zealand have come back well with two quick wickets. Eoin Morgan is bowled by Mitchell Santner and Sam Billings is run out. 39 needed from 26 balls.
Eoin Morgan and James Vince have led England's chase superbly and constructed another handy partnership. They have forced the bowlers to change their plans and err.
SPINNER IN, BATSMAN OUT Ish Sodhi has struck in his first over. It was a low full toss meant to be put away anywhere the batsman wished. But Dawid Malan hit it straight to the fielder at deep mid wicket instead. Second wicket down.
