Toss - Australia opt to bowl

No changes for Australia as Finch wants to chase again. Both captains reckon this is a top pitch. Kohli likes it in particular as he likens this to the old Bangalore surface that was full of runs. India make three changes. Shikhar Dhawan is back for Rohit Sharma. Vijay Shankar and Siddarth Kaul replace Mayank Markande and Umesh Yadav.

Teams:

India (Playing XI): Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Virat Kohli (c), Vijay Shankar, Rishabh Pant, MS Dhoni(w), Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Siddarth Kaul

Australia (Playing XI): D Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis, Aaron Finch (c), Glenn Maxwell, Peter Handscomb(w), Ashton Turner, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, Adam Zampa

Build up

As we continue to question the relevance of this T20I series with a World Cup coming up, Australia are plotting something significant to boost their own morale. They edged past India in the opening T20I after appearing to implode at one point. And now, if they come out on top once again tonight in Bangalore, they will seal their first ever T20I series in this part of the world. Again, that might not appear to be a remarkable achievement considering both teams are focusing on other aspects at this juncture. Giving opportunities to fringe players to make their case, getting combinations right are on top of the agenda for both sides.

India didn't play Shikhar Dhawan in the first game and one shouldn't be surprised if he comes back into the side at the expense of someone like Rohit Sharma. There could be other changes too. It will be interesting to see if Vijay Shankar gets a go. The competition for that middle order slot will continue as Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will get another opportunity.

Australia themselves will look at their options and could take a call on Pat Cummins. He is becoming a vital cog in their setup and managing his workload is very important. But with Kane Richardson ruled out, he might have to stay in the XI. The conditions are expected to be batting friendly compared to the one we saw in Visakhapatnam. Will we see some big scores tonight at the Chinnaswamy? We will find out soon. Welcome to the live blog for the second and final T20I game of the series.
