Toss - India opt to bat
It's a dry surface and it is expected to assist spin especially during the second half. And India have also brought back Kuldeep Yadav so they have three spinners to exploit these conditions. Windies, on the other hand, have replaced Oshane Thomas with Obed McCoy.

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni(w), Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra
Milestone beckons
Indian fans have something very important to look forward to today. Virat Kohli is 81 runs short of becoming the fastest batsman to get to 10000 runs. He is still just 29 years old, so what a staggering feat that will be. Accumulating 81 runs in an ODI is not going to be easy but the way he is batting, you cannot rule it out from happening today.
Build up
Following the mauling in the Test series, it appeared as if a decent challenge would be posed to India in the ODI series especially after Windies's batting performance in the first game. But a target of 323 was achieved with relative ease by the home side with their two batting mainstays Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scoring big hundreds. India's top order has been in blazing form for a while. Since the 2015 World Cup, they have scored 37 centuries, which is a staggering stat. No wonder Jason Holder spoke about getting rid of them early to put pressure on India's middle order, which has been largely untested.
Rishabh Pant is the latest entry into that middle order and MS Dhoni has been under a bit of pressure for a while to deliver the goods. If the Windies do manage to get a crack at these two, it will be interesting to see how they fare. Windies also will be hoping to repeat their batting performance for starters, else a collapse will see them go 2-0 down in the series. As fans, let's be hopeful of watching a proper contest between bat and ball. Way too many batting-dominated games are taking the sheen out of the contest. Welcome to the live blog for the second ODI of this five-match series.
