VICTORY FOR INDIA

Ashwin picks up the final wicket as Hazlewood is caught at second slip. Australia lose by 31 runs but have put on a terrific fight. Lyon remains unbeaten on 38 after a 68-ball association with Hazlewood. India have been made to fight harder than they would have expected but they've managed to get over the line eventually.

Australia put on a spirited fight

The last wicket pair is not giving it away. They've faced close to ten overs now and are chipping away at the deficit which stands at 40.

WICKET: Cummins' vigil ends

Bumrah gets Cummins to finally edge one after 120 balls. The catch is taken well by Kohli at first slip. India one away from victory now.

Drop by Pant

He might have the world record for most dismissals in this Test but those have been straightforward. What could be more costly were the chances he's missed. First off Pant where he went with the wrong hand. And now against Lyon when he's caught wrong-footed. Bumrah's angle was bringing the ball in but the outside edge is taken and Pant has to dive late to his right. He drops. Bumrah's not impressed.

WICKET: Starc falls to Shami

A stand worth 41 has finally been broken. Starc tries that big drive against Shami but nicks it behind. Pant gets another catch.

WICKET: Bumrah breaks Marsh's resistance

He bowled a terrific over to Marsh previously. In the next, he gets him nicking with a slight away shape from round the wicket. Big breakthrough for India as Marsh falls for 60.

Fifty for Shaun Marsh

He pulls Ashwin to the boundary and gets to a well deserved half century. He's putting up a big fight for Australia. But they'll need him to go at it for a longer period.

WICKET: Ishant gets Head

A snorter from Ishant. A bouncer into the body, sharp and steep. Head was putting his hands at it almost in a bid to protect his throat. But it takes the glove and lobs up back to the cordon. Big breakthrough early for India.

What's in store?

India begin the last day as firm favorites, needing six more wickets. But Australia have an outside chance of getting 219 if they play really, really well from here and last long. Either way, it promises to be a lot of drama as Test cricket should be.
