India beat Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS Method) © AFP
Pakistan did hit some quick runs in the last five overs but it proved too little with the massive task at hand. Eventually, they fell 89 runs short (DLS Method). India continue their unbeaten run in the tournament and have now extended their winning streak against Pakistan to seven matches. With the bat, with the ball and on the field, India thoroughly dominated Pakistan. There may be a few questions raised over Sarfraz Ahmed's decision to field after winning the toss but barring Mohammad Amir's spell and a century stand by Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam, there was little going Pakistan's way. This, despite India playing one player short - Bhuvneshwar Kumar - for most parts.
Play has resumed. Yuzvendra Chahal comes out to bowl the 36th over.
The match has been reduced to 40 overs and the target has been revised to 302, which means Pakistan will need 136 more to win from 30 balls. The macth will resume in 8 minutes.
Update 2 from Ganesh: ...Or maybe not. The umpires seem to have dispersed towards the dressing rooms, which is when an update usually comes. I'll keep you posted.
Update from Ganesh: The covers are coming off. But that's a slow process. The umpires are hanging around to check the ground once it's off. So any update will take a little while longer...
RAIN BREAK Rain has stopped play again, and Pakistan - at 166 for 6 - find themselves 86 run behind the DLS par score of 252. Looks like a light shower though at the moment.
WICKET Vijay Shankar has struck again. Sarfraz Ahmed edges the ball back on to the stumps. Sixth wicket down. The skipper falls for a 30-ball 12.
WICKET Shoaib Malik follows. The veteran inside edges the ball on to the stumps. Two wickets in two balls for Hardik Pandya. Pakistan reeling at 129 for 5.
