A convincing victory for Kolkata Knight Riders and they did it without any contributions from Chris Lynn and Andre Russell. Karthik is enjoying his captaincy and this team looks good to finish amongst the top four. But IPL is a long horse race and even the bottom dwellers at the moment can't be entirely ruled out of reckoning. Another match coming up tomorrow and it's Sunrisers Hyderabad's chance at getting back to number one in the points table. They meet Kings XI Punjab in a pivotal encounter in Mohali. Don't forget to join us for the encounter.
Dinesh Karthik, Captain, Kolkata Knight Riders: Feels good to get two wins on the trot. Spinners did a good job for us. The way Robin batted was fantastic. He set the tone for us. Nitish is getting used to that role where he's coming not out which is good to see. Fielding could be better, death bowling could be better.
Ajinkya Rahane, Captain, Rajasthan Royals: I thought we were 15-20 runs short. I got a good start and it was my responsibility to carry on. We thought 175-180 would have been good on this wicket.
Nitish Rana (MoM):I know that my job is to defend runs and that's what I was striving for. I bowl regularly in domestic cricket. Backed myself, and I'm lucky to be MoM in both these last two games
can get there. With two spinners and Unadkat, might have a decent attack. Good game
career dependent on how many teams have Aussie coaches to sign him up in future seasons...
The Royals are back in their den and they are up against a confident Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Both teams have 2 wins each, although Rajasthan Royals (RR) have a game in hand and the winner of today's match will join Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the top of the table. Still plenty of time for the toss, but will the highly rated Jofra Archer, who's recovering from a side strain, finally make his much anticpated Indian Premier League (IPL) debut today?
