Here's what the players had to say.
Sarfraz: My boys put in a fantastic effort. Babar Azam's innings was beyond appreciation. We got a good start. We've been working out because fitness has become important nowadays. So the fielding is improving too. We got run-outs today; the boys fielded better. We are a young team, so the effort is to build the confidence. Players should get a fair rope at the international level. There's talent in Pakistan, it's about getting opportunities. Thanks to the crowd, the security forces, the groundsman for preparing the high-scoring pitches. (translated from Urdu/Hindi)
Du Plessis: "The series is a huge success. Cricket's come back to Pakistan. From our point of view, we thank everyone. Our team will get better (chuckles). Was a great competition; Pakistan are a very good side. It's not the Pakistan team that you can beat in the field (easily). They have the skills with the ball and their batting is also strong. Captaining World XI was great. It's a good bunch of guys. And it makes a week or ten days like this very enjoyable."
World XI players get their medallions now.
Hello and welcome to the live blog of the third and final T20I between Pakistan and World XI in Lahore. The series is level and has reached a cracking finale as Lahore gears up for another historic clash.
The series might be tied at 1-1 but Pakistan, as a country, is already a winner. There have been a few administrative issues - ticket prices and tight security measures - impeding people from thronging the Gaddafi Stadium but that aside, the quality of cricket and the response world over has been nothing short of phenomenal.
A tightly-packed schedule means that the players will be back on field on Friday (September 15) for the third and last T20I of the Independence Cup. Although a short series such as this with only T20Is - and one party having a mix of players from different teams - does not allow enough room to assess the opponent, both teams by now should have at least some idea about what to expect going into the decider.
Before this series, only a couple of World XI members had the experience of playing in Pakistan and that was evident during the the series opener when Faf du Plessis's side fell well short of the target. However, once the players got used to the conditions, they came back strong to level the series.
