Canada vs Windies
Canada vs Windies
And the game which was headed only one way all the while has finally ended. Windies have registered a comprehensive victory, dominating with both bat and ball. There was a meek challenge offered by Canada, which was brushed aside with ease. Kavian Naress did manage to score a half century, but with little effect on the consequence of the game. Windies won by 187 runs.
India vs Bangladesh
And it's all over. A brilliant bowling performance by India. Kamlesh Nagarkoti dismantles the offstump to end Bangladesh's chase on 134. India defended the total of 265 superbly, with an impressive allround bowling display. Ishan Porel kept it tight, Shubham Mavi and Abhishek Sharma bagged two wickets each, while Nagarkoti struck thrice. The fielding was top-class as well.
Shubhman Gill is named Man of the Match for his third consecutive half century of the tournament. India have now set up a date with Pakistan in the semis. It promises to be a mouth-watering encounter.
Canada vs Windies
Canada's chase is going nowhere at the moment. 35 overs down, they have failed to score at even 3 an over for a target over 300. Kavian Naress is closing in on a half century, but apart from his personal milestone there is very little he is batting for at the moment.
India vs Bangladesh
This is as good as over for Bangladesh. Shivam Mavi and Abhishek Sharma have struck in consecutive overs to leave them seven wickets down. The required rate is more than 10 now, with only three wickets in hand.
India vs Bangladesh
The pressure is building on for Bangladesh. The batsmen are playing rash shots and taking risky singles. Three more wickets fall and half the batsmen are back in the pavilion. The chase is falling apart for them.
Canada vs Windies
Kavian Naress and Arslan Khan had led a brief recovery, but the skipper has perished, giving Kian Pemberton his maiden wicket of the tournament. Canada are lagging far behind, far far behind in this chase at the moment.
India vs Bangladesh
Indian bowlers and fielders are doing a good job at keeping the pressure mounting on Bangladesh. Bangladesh have lost only two wickets but they are finding it highly difficult to score easily.
India vs Bangladesh
The pressure eventually did Bangladesh in. The runs were drying up even as the bowlers failed to create much wicket-taking threat. In a bid to release the pressure, Mohammad Niam decided to go over the infield. However, he failed to time the ball well and gave an easy catch to Prithvi Shaw at mid on. First strike for India!
India vs Bangladesh
Bangladesh are off to a steady start in the chase. They aren't scoring at a brisk pace and despite the struggle against Ishan Porel's length, they haven't lost a wicket. Indian fielders are chirpy and the instruction is very clear 'shor machta rahe' (let the chirping go on).
Canada vs Windies
And Canada are in trouble way too early in the chase. Ronaldo Alimohamed has bagged two and Jarion Hoyte has struck once in the first five overs to leave them reeling at 6 for 3. Just if the target was not daunting enough, the poor start to the chase has made their task all the more complicated.
India vs Bangladesh
Abhishek Sharma played a crucial hand in the death overs of the Indian innings but fell soon after scoring a half century. The pitch slowed down as the innings progressed. As a result, India were bowled out for 265 runs after scoring 71 for 1 in the first 10 overs. Qazi Onik bagged three wickets apart from running a batsman out with a direct hit. It has been a superb effort by Bangladesh against a strong batting line up after losing the toss.
