Drama full on! SRH haven't been at the best in the field today. Sloppy work on the field throughout. Just off the previous ball, Ojha confidently screamed for a caught behind appeal but missed a stumping chance. The ball had gone to hit the keeper's helmet and would have been ruled not out anyway. Ojha doesn't bother going ahead with the stumping even though Stokes is way out of his crease.
Stokes on fire
RPS had managed only 51 in half their overs and Stokes realizes its time to turn on the heat. Bipul Sharma is at the receiving end as Stokes sends two consecutive balls into the deep midwicket stands. Time to bring back Rashid Khan, maybe? Incidentlally, RPS haven't hit a boundary yet!
Another dropped chance, at short fine leg again.. what are the odds! Bhuvi the culprit this time. Smith gets another life.
OUT
Bipul Sharma redeems himself. Rahane gets greedy after the six and sweeps one straight into the hands of Yuvraj Singh near the square leg region. He won't drop those. Ben Stokes is in now.
Missed chance?
Certainly! Wonder why Siddharth Kaul didn't think of putting in a dive to catch that from Rahane. The batsman chipped it to mid-on but Kaul stays back and the ball drops right in front of him. Warner can't believe what he just saw. Inexcusable! Rahane adds insult to injury by dispatching the next one for six. RPS though have only 35 on the board at the end of the powerplay!
DROP
After affecting a brilliant run out of Tripathi, Bipul has made a hash of a straightforward catch! Same spot - short fine leg - but Smith is lucky as the ball pops out of his hands. Smith will move on to six with a single. Siddharth Kaul is the unlucky bowler.
Prakash reports from the venue that the lights are now coming on!
WICKET
Oh boy... Tripathi has been run out! No extraordinary delivery that and Tripathi flicks it to short fine leg where Bipul Sharma collects it and fires in a sharp throw. He's bang on target and Tripathi, who was making his way back after Rahane didn't respond to his call for the single, is caught short. Waste of a wicket, really! Tripathi didn't wait to see Rahane's response, was running down the pitch blindly. Steve Smith is the new man in. RPS 6 for 1 after 2 overs.
All set
Rahane and Tripathi walk out to open the innings and surprisingly, it seems all overcast at the moment suddenly. Bhuvi with the ball. Interestingly, Bhuvi has dismissed Rahane six times in IPL!
Toss
The news from the centre is that SRH have won the toss and elected to bowl. Nehra is fit and back, replacing Siraj in the XI. Hooda makes way for Bipul Sharma. RPS are unchanged.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage for Match No. 44 between defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rising Pune Supergiant, from Hyderabad.
Steve Smith had said that Pune sought creating a fortress at their home ground at the Maharashtra Cricket Association, where they've won 4 games out of 6, with the other 3 coming away from home, which has placed them third among the top-four prior to this clash.
Sunrisers, on the other hand, are unbeaten at home so far in the season, with just another home game to go after this. They, however, have managed only win away from home, with one wash-out. While that remains a cause of concern given the proximity of the top-four this season, this game will be of vital significance for the Hyderabad-based franchise as the winner will rise to second spot.
Join us for the toss in a bit. Until then, do check out Prakash Govindasreenivasan's preview for the clash.
