After being a labelled a spin-heavy side over the years, Knight Riders have turned a new leaf this season with the dominance of pace. Our correspondent from last night's encounter
The covers are coming off as well now.
Covers on
There is a slight drizzle and the covers are now being brought on. Toss would most likely be delayed. The whole playfield is now under the covers.

Weather could play spoilsport
There were thunderstorms expected in the evening, just before the game, which could be a dampener for a likely packed house at Eden Gardens tonight.
Building up
To put their season into perspective, Royal Challengers Bangalore have scored the slowest among all teams in the powerplay overs this season. They also have employed the joint most number of players this season. Contrast that to last year, when they scored the quickest in the first six overs, having the troika of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers at its collective prime in a pretty settled team. It took a special innings from Chris Gayle to bring RCB's campaign back on track few nights ago, and the team will need him again today. And not without reason, given Gayle has scored 339 in five innings against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, his IPL home ground once upon a time.
Kolkata Knight Riders were on the receiving end of a famous chase by Gujarat Lions, with Suresh Raina stroking 84 off 46 to guide his team home. They play at home again today, in front of what is expected to be a full house, and will want to get back to winnings ways. They alternatively play home and away games now and the momentum assumes all the more importance.
