Ajit Acharya emails this: "I'm thinking Pakistan will be win today's encounter"
Toss: Pakistan opt to chase
Well, the early surprise is not Pakistan sending England in, perhaps inviting a mammoth score, but Amir missing out owing to a back spasm. Rumman Raees comes in instead, while Shadab Khan replaces Fahim Ashraf, meaning the pitch might be on the drier side. And that they expect England to miss the quick, straight darters.

Are you ready?
Let not the predictability of life adulterate your perceptions about today. Do not mistake this for just a semifinal. Do not assume that England will win, and easily at that. Or they just might -- you never know. Because when a warlord's absolutism confronts a rebellion from a sergeant as mad as a March hare, you shelve your predictions. You just wait on the sidelines and watch, trusting the tensile strength of your vocal chords, the cubic capacity of your lungs and the unfamiliar promise of your rectal brawn.
