Welcome to our live blog for the fifth match of the Asia Cup 2016 between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Four games into the tournament, and we are yet to see the big-hitters take the centre stage, mainly because of the pitches the series has seen so far. Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have enough resources in their ranks to counter the tinge of green that has been a constant in the first few games.
While Sri Lanka will be sweating upon the fitness of Lasith Malinga, who was playing his first game in four months after a knee injury kept him out and did not seem to happy at the end of that game, Bangladesh have their own set of woes with their batting.
It is unlikely that either team will make any changes to their playing XI unless injury-enforced. For Bangladesh, with a loss already in their first game against India, this game will be of bigger significance.
We'll be back with an update of the toss.
Massive blow for Sri Lanka as regular T20I captain, Lasith Malinga, has been ruled out with injury. Angelo Mathews walks out for the toss.
Mashrafe Mortaza wins toss and Bangladesh will bat first. The hosts are fielding the same XI.
Bangladesh (Playing XI): Nurul Hasan(w), Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Mortaza(c), Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain
Sri Lanka (Playing XI): Tillakaratne Dilshan, Shehan Jayasuriya, Dinesh Chandimal(w), Angelo Mathews(c), Milinda Siriwardana, Chamara Kapugedera, Dasun Shanaka, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thisara Perera, Rangana Herath, Dushmantha Chameera
Mortaza: We will bat first. The track does not seem to have much grass. In the earlier matches, there was a decent covering of grass. Hopefully, we can get a good total. It is a pressure game and hopefully, we can cope with it.
Mathews: Malinga is unfit and won't play today. In the last game, we did not do that well. Hopefully, we can pick our game today. The wicket really looks like a good track for batting. Malinga misses out and Thisara Perera comes in.
Angelo Mathews opens the bowling and strikes in the second ball. Has Mohammad Mithun trapped leg before. Umpire takes his time and raises his finger. Super start for Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh are 1/1 after the first over.
Nuwan Kulasekara runs in from the other end and Soumya Sarkar gets a leading edge straight to Mathews at mid off. The Bangladesh openers depart for ducks.
