The most awaited clash of the Asia Cup is finally here. Pakistan would want to kickstart their campaign on a positive note and what could be better than beating India for them! But the question is, can they do it? Of the six games that the two sides have played each other, Pakistan have beaten India only once in the format.
There's good news for India heading into their second game of the Asia Cup. MS Dhoni seems to be okay. He has been a lot more active today after missing the practice session yesterday and will play!
Following the Pakistan Super League and the bunch of performances that were seen in there, Shahid Afridi's boys will be raring to go. Umar Akmal, Sharjeel Khan and Mohammad Hafeez have all been among the runs in the PSL, scoring a minimum of 200 runs. Mohammad Sami returns to the national side after a long layoff. In addition, Mohammad Amir, who impressed in the PSL will also pose a mighty challenge for the Indian batsmen, who are in great touch.
Rohit Sharma has been in scintillating touch, while Virat Kohli has been among the runs as well. Virat averages 75 against Pakistan in Twenty20 Internationals. India would want the middle order to be a tad more consistent.
There might be a bit of rain around following the overcast day. As for the pitch, it looks less greener than the ones used so far.
MS Dhoni wins the toss and will bowl first. India have made one change from their first game: Shikhar Dhawan is carrying a niggle and has been replaced by Ajinkya Rahane.
India: Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ashish Nehra, Jasprit Bumrah
Pakistan: Khurram Manzoor, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan
Dhoni: We will bowl first. I think so far we have not really judged the wicket. This is slightly harder than the last time we played here. We have seen that the sides that have lost too many wickets early have struggled. So we need to respect the bowlers a bit. Pressure is always there. I am surviving. Shikhar has a niggle, Rahane is in.
Afridi: We wanted to bat first anyway. We are playing four genuine fast bowlers. Truly speaking, we are relaxed, very motivated and that's a good sign for me. There will be something on this pitch for the fast bowlers early on.
