Hello and welcome to our live blog for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 final between England and West Indies at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Both the teams are chasing their second title. Which one will get it?

Darren Sammy, West Indies captain, won the toss and elected to bowl in the final of ICC World T20 2016 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Both teams - England and West Indies - are coming in with an unchanged Plaaying XI. Eoin Morgan, too, said that he would've bowled first had he won the toss.PS: For the 10th successive time, Sammy got lucky with the toss

Ian Bishop, former West Indies pacer, inspected the pitch at the Eden Gardens before the final and said, "The surface is a little discoloured and there are just few a footmarks from the women's final that concluded a few minutes ago. There is a bit of brown grass and there are patches of green grass as well. The ball should come onto the bat nicely under lights. It's a decent surface, so it should all come down to execution,"

West Indies smashed 18 runs off the 14th over to shift the momentum in their favour. However, England struck back with two wickets off the next two overs to snatch the initiative back. Even as Darren Sammy and Andre Russell have departed, Marlon Samuels is going strong from the other end.

Brilliant bowling by Chris Jordan has helped England push the equation to 19 runs off the last over. This has been a dramatic final

Carlos Brathwaite sealed the match for West Indies with four sixes off the first four deliveries of the last over of the final. But, it was Marlon Samuels - the hero yet again in West Indies' World T20 victory. A match that was dominated by England for most parts, was won by the 2012 champions by 4 wickets and two balls to spare - a record run-chase in World T20 final

The men and women's team are celebrating with the 'Champion' dance. It has been a happy, happy day in Kolkata for the cricketers from Caribbean.
