Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali won the toss and chose to bat first. Imad Wasim makes his debut for the visitors in place of Babar Azam. Mohammad Hafeez will play as a pure batsman. Sri Lanka are unchanged.

Pakistan began their innings on a slow note, hitting their first boundary only in the sixth over. The Sri Lanka bowlers bowled tight line and lengths and did not let the openers Ahmed Shehzad and Azhar Ali rotate the strike frequently.

However, once Azhar Ali hit the first four, he started scoring runs briskly and soon completed 1000 runs in ODIs as well.
