With two wins out of two, hosts, Australia, sit pretty atop the table in the tri-series. Another win today in Hobart will assure Australia, a place in the finals of the reduced tournament. England are coming off the back of a convincing 9-wicket win over India. A win here will enhance their chances of making the final with the other team, India remaining winless.

Australia have as many as 3 players sitting this one out. David Warner complained of hamstring soreness and has been rested. George Bailey was handed a one-match suspension for maintaining a slow over-rate. Shane Watson joined the two in the sidelines with a tight hamstring. Chairman of selectors, Rod Marsh has included Shaun Marsh, Cameron White and Moises Henriques as their replacement in the squad. Steven Smith will lead.

England were boosted by the return of James Anderson. Anderson's comeback from injury appeared to lift Steven Finn's game as well and the two proceeded to destroy India's batting line up with combined figures of 9/51! Ian Bell and James Taylor have spent sometime in the crease, a depleted Australian side may just be the ideal team against who England would look to start a sequence of wins.

Stand-in captain, Steven Smith won the toss and elected to field first in Hobart. Smith reckoned that there was a bit of moisture on the wicket that Mitchell Starc would love to exploit.

Eoin Morgan opined that the wicket would stay true throughout the course of the game while acknowledging the threat posed by Mitchell Starc.

Yeah, Mitchell Starc is a threat, he is an excellent bowler.

Brad Haddin was dismissed for an entertaining 42, looking to ramp a short delivery from Chris Woakes towards third man. The ball hit the toe end of the bat and ballooned to the backward point fielder, Ian Bell who completed his third catch.

In the final over of the chase, requiring only 2 runs, a scratchy looking Moises Henriques dug a yorker length delivery from Woakes towards mid-off and set-off for a single. James Taylor at mid-off picked up the ball and effected an easy run-out.
