Australia's long and gruelling tour of England is set for an enthralling finale as Eoin Morgan & Co. host Steven Smith's side in the fifth and final ODI of the series at the Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday. The Aussies tried to get over their Ashes drubbing with strong performances in the first two ODIs but the hosts made a stunning comeback to level the series in Leeds on Friday.

Smith would want to sign off on what has largely been a forgettable tour with a win. They are the ODI world champions but their performances in the last two games where they had opportunities to seal the series have been well below average.

England, not too long ago, crashed out of the World Cup with a crushing loss to Bangladesh. Since then, they've come a long way. A series win against New Zealand and now an opportunity to repeat the same against Australia.

Should be a cracker, this.

Australia are right on top here in Manchester as Alex Hales falls to a tame shot. John Hastings pitched this up on a length outside the off-stump enticing the drive and Hales played it uppishly straight to Glenn Maxwell at backward point, who juggled it before settling on it. Poor shot really playing away from the body. England are 13 for 2.

Up to Eoin Morgan and James Taylor to conjure up another partnership.

England win a crucial toss in the decider and Eoin Morgan, who reckons that this is a similar track to the one used for the third ODI, has no hesitation in opting to bat. Very little grass on the pitch but is 'rock hard'. A 'terrific pitch' says Bumble!

Australia's experiment with Stoinis lasted all of one match. He misses out, as does Pattinson. Mitchell Starc and Ashton Agar come back. Should take turn later on. For England, Steven Finn misses out for a second game in a row. But the hosts have handed a debut to left-armer Reece Topley for Liam Plunkett. Possibly because of David Willey's success in the last game.

England (Playing XI): Alex Hales, Jason Roy, James Taylor, Eoin Morgan(c), Ben Stokes, Jonathan Bairstow(w), Moeen Ali, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley

Mitchell Starc took all of four deliveries to give the world champions an early breakthrough in the final ODI. Fast and full, Starc rapped Jason Roy on the pads . The on-field umpire gave it out straight away. After a lengthy discussion with the non-striker, Roy decided against referring the decision even as the Aussie fielders goaded him into calling the DRS into action.

Big mistake really, as the ball was clearly missing the stumps. Aah the benefits of sledging! Poor Roy has to go back for four. Perfect start for Starc and Australia.

Roy had reviewed correctly couple of deliveries ago when he was given out. Should have done it again.

Mark Wood and Adil Rashid arrested England's slide for a little over 15 minutes before the former perished attempting an ambitious loft over the infield on the off-side. Wood found the deep extra-cover fielder Ashton Agar to a nicety to give Hastings his third wicket. Debutant Reece Topley is in now. Highly unlikely that Morgan would come out to bat so this could be the last pair. We'll wait and see.

Morgan Injury Update: He is being treated for concussion and will take no further part in the game. James Taylor will lead England in his absence.

Adil Rashid and debutant Reece Topley have now batted eight overs. Perhaps England would have been better served if some of their top order batsman applied themselves on the crease as these two have. Rashid has picked up a couple of wristy boundaries as well. Sir Alex Ferguson, who is in attendance today would have certainly approved of the fight shown by this ninth wicket pair. Steven Smith has introduced the left-arm spin of Agar for the first time.

Australia will chase 139 to clinch the series after Ashton Agar ended the last wicket's dogged resistance with a straight delivery that Topley missed and was struck in front of the stumps. A shambolic batting display barring entertaining innings from Ben Stokes and Adil Rashid (35*) Eoin Morgan's injury didn't help either.

We hope for a speedy recovery for the England captain, who will take no further part in this game. Australia will certainly fancy chasing this one down! Back in 10 mins for the chase.

David Willey provided England an early breakthrough in their defense of 139 when he had Joe Burns caught behind for a nine-ball duck with a ball angled across the right-hander. Burns chased that one and could only succeed in edging it to keeper Bairstow. Good start for England. Need more of this.

Burns' scores have progressively dwindled since the 69 on debut. 69,44,22,9,2 and0 today!

In comes Steven Smith.

Steven Smith and Aaron Finch appeared to be putting Australia in a comfortable position in their chase of 139 before Mark Wood had the Australian skipper caught behind an over before the lunch break. George Bailey is the new man in and Australia have meandered to 36/2 and require another 103 runs for the series win. This is not over yet. Stranger things have happened in cricket. !

Aaron Finch quite literally swept his way to an ODI half-century as Australia continued to cruise to their target. Finch unleashed a series of powerful sweeps off Moeen Ali to complete his 50 off 47 deliveries to put Australia 34 runs away from sealing the series.

Aaron Finch and George Bailey wasted no time post the lunch interval and quickly took the attack to the England bowlers. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid in particular was taken apart soon after he was introduced into the attack with the batsmen picking up 24 runs off his first two overs. While Finch was the aggressor, Bailey kept picking up the odd boundary on offer as the duo completed their 50-run stand.

That's the end of Australia's long, long tour of the British isles. The Ashes didn't go their way but they'll have to contend with the ODI series for now. That's the way it goes! That's it from us. Untill next time, tata!
