Edge and caught by Mukund at third slip. Gohel falls cheaply. Smart bowling from the experienced Pankaj Singh, it fed him with short deliveries all the while and now dishes out one inviting the batsman to drive. Batsman should have left it alone, especially given the heavily loaded slip cordon. Gujarat 4 for 1 and in comes Dhruv Raval.

Hello and welcome to the live blog of Day 3 of the Irani Trophy between Ranji champs Gujarat and Rest of India.

Day 2 was all about Gujarat. Che Pujara's gritty 86 was undone by a bunch of quick wickets in the final session. RoI are still 152 runs int he deficit - credit to the Thadani, Gaja and Hardik Patel trio - and have just one wicket in hand. Gujarat would be looking to wrap this up cheaply and let the batsman pile some more runs on RoI. Liveaction coming your way shortly. Stay tuned.

Right then, time to play. Gaja with the ball, Siraj on strike.

Runs coming thick and fast for Rest of... jinx! Siraj falls trying to accumulate quick runs. He could erase the deficit by only another 20 runs.

Gaja picks up his fourth wicket to give Gujarat a lead of 132. 13 minutes is all it took on Day 3. Over to their batsman to pile more misery on RoI

Gujarat openers Samit Gohel and Priyank Panchal are out in the middle. Pankaj Singh with the ball. 132 runs in hand already for the Ranji winners. How much more can they pile on?

Gujarat slowing down here a bit. There is no hurry either. They've lost an early wicket despite being on top and RoI would be looking for another incision here. Gujarat batsman - both Panchal ad Raval - are taking their time to settle in. The lead is, finally, past 150.

The saga of dropped catches continue. RoI have been particularly sloppy in the field. Karun Nair drops a regular catch for first slip and helps Raval move on to eight.

Shahbaz Nadeem into the attack now. He's replacing Pankaj Singh. Gujarat have crawled their way to a lead of 160. Just 32 added in the 21 overs pf their second innings thus far.

Run out appeal against Dhruv. Panchal hit it straight down the track and the fielder from mid-on sent in a sharp throw to the keeper but tad late. Dhruv had dragged his bat in, well in time, despite a moment of hesitancy before taking off for that cheeky single. No harm done, anyway. Gujarat 38 for 1 after 24 overs in their second innings, lead by 170 now.

And a wicket at last. Mohammed Siraj gets the breakthrough RoI have been hunting for a while. Dhruv Raval's luck finally runs out. Siraj bowls it well outside off, tempts the batsman to drive and the edge is safely pouched by Manoj Tiwary who times his dive perfectly at second slip. No mistakes this time in the slip cordon.

Raval's gone for 23 off 64 and here comes the skipper Parthiv Patel. He's on the verge of scaling the 10k peak in first-class cricket. 9963 his tally at the start of innings.
