England showed plenty of intent yesterday but still failed to turn the tide towards their favour. They had their moments in the morning session and again in the final session when Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson removed the top order cheaply. But Virat Kohli stepped up for his side yet again to steer them to safety. India now lead by 298 runs with Kohli batting on 56. He has Ajinkya Rahane for company, who is looking for some runs after making a poor start to the series.

Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes earlier in the day gave the hosts a scare by putting on more than 100 for the sixth wicket but India found their saviour yet again in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin, who picked up a five-wicket haul to fetch his side a 200-run lead. Even though Murali Vijay, KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara fell cheaply after India decided to bat again, England will have a tough task to chase down a daunting total on a surface that's slowly deteriorating.

The question is, how longer would India want to bat? Can Kohli get another ton? Will Rahane make runs? Or will England dismiss the duo to have a crack at keeping the target below 375, which in itself sounds like a lot. Plenty of answers coming our way today on the fourth day.
