The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has constituted a high-profile Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) under its newly elected managing committee, with Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath headlining a group that also includes Sunil Joshi, Vijay Bharadwaj and Jayshree Doraiswamy.
The move marks one of the first major administrative steps taken by the Venkatesh Prasad-led dispensation, which assumed charge following the KSCA elections earlier this month.
In its first meeting, the CAC recommended sweeping changes to Karnataka's selection panels for the ongoing season, which were subsequently approved by the managing committee. Amit Verma has been named chairman of selectors for the Senior and Under-23 men's teams, alongside S. Prakash, Tejpal Kothari and Sunil Raju. The junior men's selection panel for the Under-19, Under-16 and Under-14 teams will comprise G. K. Anil Kumar, C. Raghavendra, G. N. Umesh and D. S. Ananth.
There were also changes to the Under-23 coaching staff, with Ganesh Satish and Deepak Chougule replacing Somashekar Siruguppi and S. R. Deepu respectively. The Women's Selection Committee is currently under review, with decisions expected shortly. Additionally, Vinay Mruthyunjaya, former KSCA treasurer, has been appointed Official Spokesperson and Chairman of Public and Member Relations.
Earlier this month, Prasad, was elected KSCA president, with the former India pacer polling 749 votes against KN Shanth Kumar's 558. It was close to a clean sweep for the Prasad-led group, with Sujith Somasundar elected vice-president, Santosh Menon returning as secretary, BN Madhukar winning the treasurer's post, while former umpire BK Ravi emerged as the lone winner from the rival camp as joint secretary.
