The 'will he or won't he' puzzle was finally resolved as Mohsin Naqvi arrived at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Friday (November 7) afternoon. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman had been a doubtful attendee for the ICC meetings, given his recent record, but he is now understood to be attending the ICC Board meeting.

Naqvi has been staying away from ICC meetings recently, including the annual conference held in July in Singapore. So there was always some doubt over his attendance this time too, especially with a serious matter - the unresolved issue of the Asia Cup - scheduled to be discussed.

The PCB chief - under fire for retaining possession of the Asia Cup Trophy that rightfully belongs to India - showed up for the ICC meeting at the last minute on Friday afternoon, where a discussion on the unresolved issue is believed to be underway at the time of publishing.

There is no doubt that Naqvi, who is also a minister in the Pakistan government, is facing heat from the global cricket administrators for not handing over the Asia Cup Trophy to the Indian team, which won the championship by defeating Pakistan in the final.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already made it clear that it will not remain silent while the silverware is being denied to the Indian team. A serious deliberation is expected, and some form of decision or resolution is likely to emerge from the meeting later on Friday evening.
