Zimbabwe have recalled Brad Evans to their Test squad for the one-off match against Afghanistan later this month. Evans has played only one Test in his career, in 2023 against West Indies. The all-rounder has been in very good form over the last few weeks, helping Zimbabwe qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Pacer Richard Ngarava has also made his return to the squad after being rested for their previous Test assignment against New Zealand. The 16-man squad sees the inclusion of two uncapped players - Antum Naqvi and Tinotenda Maposa. Naqvi recently qualified to represent Zimbabwe.

Veteran Sean Williams, who was withdrawn from the Zimbabwe squad during the T20 World Cup qualifiers due to personal reasons, continues to miss out. Trevor Gwandu, Newman Nyamhuri, Clive Madande and Vincent Masekesa have been left out from the previous squad. On expected lines, Craig Ervine will lead the side for this game that commences on October 20 in Harare.
