Live Cricket Score - RCB v RR, Match 39, IPL 2022

It's all over
Royals win by a comfortable margin of 29 runs led by the spells of Kuldeep Sen and R Ashwin. It's the lowest total successfully defended this season, and it's another batting failure from RCB. They were almost out of it around the halfway mark of the chase, having lost a bunch of wickets, unable to turn things around after the shocker against SRH a few days ago. It wasn't the most straightforward pitch today, and Faf says 130 was a par score as he speaks after the game. And for a good while they looked like keeping the Royals under that total having opted to bowl after winning the toss. But the drop catch in the penultimate over proved very costly as Parag powered the Royals to 144 with a cracking 56* off 31 balls.
In reply, RCB just never got going, losing wickets regularly starting from Kohli whose miserable run continued. Sen and Ashwin were brilliant today with the ball for the Royals, sharing seven wickets between them, and shutting the door on RCB who eventually folded for just 115. The result takes Royals to the top of the table, while RCB remain in the middle with plenty of concerns around their batting. So that's all from us here. Until the next one it's goodbye!
What a spell from Ashwin
He takes a wicket in his final over and bowls out with figures of 3/17. Has almost sealed the game getting rid of Shahbaz Ahmed. The left-hander wanted to go for a big shot, but Ashwin pulled his length back and brought about a miscue which was superbly held by Parag running forward from long-off.
RCB in tatters
Oh this is turning into a disaster again. It's all going wrong with the bat for RCB. After losing their big guns, the inexperienced middle-order has buckled as well against the mastery of Ravichandran Ashwin who has sent both Patidar and Prabhudessai packing. And to make things exponentially worse, Dinesh Karthik has been run out. The opportunity was almost fluffed by Chahal who failed to collect the throw at the non-striker's end. That should've given Karthik enough of a window to get back, but he wasn't pushing hard at all, allowing Chahal to recover and effect the run out. It's 72/6 (13).
Two in two for Kuldeep Sen
The game has been cracked right open here by Kuldeep Sen. In his very first over he's got rid of Faf and Maxwell back to back, pounding it on a short of length and extracting good bounce. Faf couldn't execute a flat-batted shot properly to be caught at cover, while Maxwell poked at one away from the body and nicked off. Good work from captain Samson too to have a slip in place. RCB in trouble on 37/3 (6.3).
Kohli's miserable run continues
A catch falling short, an inside-edge for four, another inside edge past leg stump for a single. Trent Boult was all over Kohli in the opening over of the chase, but Kohli had some luck as he managed to survive, also getting off the dreaded duck for the first time in three games. But if you thought those lucky moments were signs of things turning around for the former RCB captain, then that wasn't to be. In the very next over, Prasidh sent down a bouncer which Kohli, early through the pull, cue-ended straight to point. It looped up in the air for long enough for Parag to sprint forward and grab it. All Kohli could do was smile as he walked off after another failure. His horror run continues.
Parag fifty takes struggling Royals to 144
He was dropped in the penultimate over as Hasaranga put down a sitter off the bowling of Hazlewood, and it has allowed Parag to finish the innings with a flourish. And didn't RR need it. They were struggling badly and if not for Parag's 31-ball 56*, would have been out of the game. 144 might still not be enough for at least their bowlers have something to defend. Parag got the better of Harshal Patel in the final over, taking 18 runs off it.
Royals stall as wickets continue to tumble
Mitchell and Hetmyer fall in quick succession as Royals slip to 102/6. Runs have dried up. In the six overs from 11.0 - 17.0, RR have scored only 27. Hazlewood almost had a wicket-maiden in the 15th over, removing Mitchell with a knuckle-ball, but Hetmyer managed to take a single off the final ball of that over. But the left-hander was dismissed in the very next over by Hasaranga. RCB right on top.
Samson gets a start, then gets out
The Royals captain starts his innings by looking to dominate spin. He hits a six off Hasaranga, a couple of sixes off Shahbaz to get going. But then he tries a reverse-sweep off a Hasaranga googly and loses his off stump as his team slips further. RR - 68/4 (9.3)
