Australia are a whole different beast when it comes to the final of a world event, immaterial of the format or gender. If the men's team have five world titles from seven appearances in the 50-over World Cup, the women's team are just as good, if not better, as they secured the T20 World Cup trophy for the fifth time in six final appearances.

On International Women's Day, in front of 86,000-plus at the MCG, the Australian women out-muscled India in what was a one-sided contest on Sunday (March 8). Alyssa Healy's 36-ball 75 and Beth Mooney's unbeaten 78 off 54 helped the hosts post a mammoth total of 184 for 4. Megan Schutt and Jess Jonassen then made short work of India's chase, picking up seven wickets between them, to had the first-time finalists an 85-run defeat.
Reactions poured in, both congratulating Australia and consoling India after what was one of the biggest occasions for women's cricket in front of a massive audience.
