Nathan Ellis to Thomas Kelly, out Caught&Bowled!! Ellis with another of his deceptive slower balls, it's really foxed most batters in this BBL. Kelly makes it to that list, way early into the shot and chips it straight up in the air. That's a dolly for Ellis who settles comfortably under the skier. Thomas Kelly c and b Nathan Ellis 28(18) [4s-1 6s-1]

Meredith to Thomas Kelly, FOUR, streaky runs but they all count! Pacy hard length from Meredith, rushes Kelly on the slog and he gets a big top edge that flies straight over the keeper. Handy runs these

Meredith to Wells, out Caught by McDermott!! That's a screamer from McDermott! It seemed to be dipping on him near the deep backward point fence but he timed his dive well and pouched it inches above the ground. That's the end of Wells. He was trying to get this much finer, punching uppishly off the back foot but couldn't quite get the placement right. Would still have gotten away with it, if not for some terrific fielding. Wells c McDermott b Meredith 17(13) [4s-2]

Meredith to Thomas Kelly, SIX, oh, well, it does seem easy for Kelly! Probably picked the slower ball here, set himself on the back foot and swung cleanly over deep mid-wicket. Superb hitting
17.2
Rogers to Thomas Kelly, 2 runs, very full and outside off, Kelly slams the drive through extra cover this time. Good running and they sneak another brace
16.4
4
Lamichhane to Wells, FOUR, that's sloppy by the point fielder! This was cut hard by Wells, onto the ground and straight to the man in the ring. He's a tad late to get down and it sneaks past him. Away to the fence. Costly miss

W
Meredith to Renshaw, out Caught by McDermott!! Double strike from Meredith! What an over this is turning out to be! He's taken out both the set batters in the space of four deliveries and the Strikers are dented a bit here. This was a short of a length ball, Renshaw shuffled across for the pull stroke but was hurried on the shot. Hit high on the blade and straight down the throat of deep mid-wicket. Never ideal when you lose both set batters in the same over and the Hurricanes can breath easy for now. Renshaw c McDermott b Meredith 63(41) [4s-9]
14.3
4
Meredith to Wells, FOUR, misses the yorker by a small margin, low full toss on the pads and Wells flicks it away through mid-wicket. Timing is really sweet and it races away to the fence in a flash
14.2
W
Meredith to Weatherald, out Caught by Tim David!! Meredith breaks the partnership! The Hurricanes needed this badly as the partnership was in top gear. Well-disguised slower ball, the off-cutter that grips a bit and the extra bounce is what does Weatherald in here. He tried to cut and ended up slicing it straight to backward point. He's played a good hand but will have wanted to bat deeper into the innings. Weatherald c Tim David b Meredith 51(43) [4s-6]

F
Rogers to Weatherald, 1 run, leg stump yorker, Weatherald can't get bat on this and is struck on the boot. Late call to take the single, Renshaw was already starting for it and makes it with a dive

Rogers to Renshaw, FOUR, what a shot! Wow! This is almost the perfect yorker from Rogers, but try telling that to Renshaw who backs away a touch and slices it uppishly over point. Incredible how he managed to get under this and then clear the infield. He's batting in a different zone altogether today

4
Nathan Ellis to Weatherald, FOUR, clubbed with disdain! Nightmarish over for Ellis, missed his length by the barest of margins, fed the slot and saw it disappear over mid-wicket. Strong bottom-handed whip from Weatherald, cleared the infield with ease and it sped to the fence. Perfect start to the surge for the Strikers. These two are running riots here
12.3
4
Nathan Ellis to Renshaw, FOUR, Renshaw is toying with the field here! This is short and very wide, probably the slower ball and Renshaw read it early, swivelling and pulling comfortably over mid-wicket. Wrong ball for the field set
12.1
4
Nathan Ellis to Weatherald, FOUR, just wide of short third man! Was a near-perfect wide yorker and Weatherald sliced this uppishly. The man in the ring wasn't all that far away and tried his best with a dive across, but the ball just sneaked past him

F
Lamichhane to Renshaw, FOUR, Renshaw keeps playing one incredible shot after the other. This is a half-tracker alright but kept a tad low, was wider too but he managed to reach it. Crouched a tad and flat-batted it powerfully past the bowler. Once again, he's hit this very straight. No chance for long-on. That's fifty for Renshaw and it's been an eye-catching knock!! He'll want to go deeper and make this into a really big score
10.3
4
Thompson to Weatherald, FOUR, he's hit this very, very hard! Juicy full toss, Weatherald accepts the offering with glee and belts it hard to the deep mid-wicket fence. Went off the bat like a tracer bullet
10.1
4
Thompson to Renshaw, FOUR, excellent shot! Too full from Thompson and Renshaw launches this straight back over the bowler's head. He's hit the ball really straight and reaped the rewards for it. Not the start Thompson would have wanted
9.1
4
D Arcy Short to Weatherald, FOUR, terrific shot! Short errs on the fuller side and Weatherald responds with an inside-out slice over extra cover. Deliberately over the infield, and right between the fielders at long-off and sweeper. Top shot!
7
Rogers to Renshaw, 1 run, slower ball on a length around off, whipped away down to long-on
6.1
4
Rogers to Weatherald, FOUR, cracking shot! Weatherald is starting to grow in confidence after a very scratchy start. Short and wide, he jumps on it with a flashy cut wide of backward point. Third man is finer and Weatherald picked his spot perfectly
5.4
4
Lamichhane to Weatherald, FOUR, juicy full toss and Weatherald was desperate for a gift like this to get some tempo to his innings. Swept it hard and wide of short fine leg
5.2
4
Lamichhane to Renshaw, FOUR, hammered! Too full, straighter this time and Renshaw drills it back past the bowler. No chance for long-off or long-on to get to this
5.1
4
Lamichhane to Renshaw, FOUR, shot of the game so far! Hardly seemed to hit this, but the timing is such that it races away, bisecting deep backward square leg and deep mid-wicket perfectly. Was fuller and on the pads, Renshaw just put it away with class
4.1
Tim David to Weatherald, 2 runs, fired in on off stump, wristed towards the left of long-on and they get a brace. The second run was a bit dicey due to a minor miscommunication
3.5
4
Meredith to Renshaw, FOUR, and now, some audacity to top things off! Backed away early, premeditated the length a bit and sliced this intentionally over backward point. With third man up, Renshaw knew what he was doing. This is good counterattacking batting from him
3.4
4
Meredith to Renshaw, FOUR, another sublime shot! Once again Renshaw times this beautifully, picking it from an off stump line and wristing it elegantly past mid-wicket
3.3
4
Meredith to Renshaw, FOUR, stylish shot! Meredith did have a half-chance for a return catch but Renshaw crunched this on-drive so sweetly that it flew by in a jiffy. Hit straight, timed well and away to the fence briskly. That should get Renshaw going
3.1
4
Meredith to Renshaw, leg byes, FOUR, shorter and on the hips, Renshaw misses the leg glance and it's deflected fine off the pads, past Wade and he isn't chasing it down on this outfield

W
Rogers to Short, out Lbw!! Rogers strikes first ball! He's been such a revelation this season for the Hurricanes, often doing the job whenever called upon by his captain. This is shortish and attacking the stumps, skids off the deck and Short is pinned on the crease trying to work across the line. Done for pace and it looked a fair shout in real time. Height was the only thing that could have saved Short. Short lbw b Rogers 2(3)
