J Richardson to Wells, 1 run, pitches it full and just outside off, Wells toe-ends the drive to mid-off where Agar spills a dolly of a catch leaping upwards.
17.1
W
J Richardson to Carey, out Caught by Agar!! Splendid take from Agar. Leapt as high as he can and grabbed it with both hands despite his momentum dragging backwards, lands solidly on his left leg to complete the catch. Full and just outside off, Carey went for the slog and didn't quite nail it off the middle. Telly umpire inspects the catch through various angles and deems it out. Carey c Agar b J Richardson 55(24) [4s-8 6s-2]

4
Jordan to Wells, FOUR, full and well wide of off, Wells throws his bat on the flashy drive and gets a thick edge past the keeper to his right
16.4
4
Jordan to Carey, FOUR, low full toss outside off, Carey says thank you and clubs the drive over extra cover with an air of nonchalance
16.3
F
Jordan to Carey, FOUR, Carey is full of skill and street-smartness, that's a dangerous combination mind you! He senses a yorker length delivery from Jordan and tries to mess his length up by shuffling across, the bowler misses his length by a fractiona and Carey takes full toll by scooping it well past the keeper down the leg-side
15.4
4
J Richardson to Wells, FOUR, short and at the body, Wells swivels and clobbers the pull over non-existent square leg
15
4
Jordan to Carey, FOUR, brilliant from Carey! Stays deep inside the crease, sees the full ball land in the slot outside off and he just lifts it over extra cover with disdain
14.4
4
Jordan to Wells, FOUR, Wells is off the mark with a boundary! Gets a length delivery outside off, he leans onto his front foot and slams the punch-drive through covers
14.3
W
Jordan to Weatherald, out Weatherald Run Out!! 1 run completed. Weatherald looks tired and he was a tad slow trying to steal the second run having flicked a full ball to deep square. The throw from Richardson was flat and at the stumps, Inglis does well to stay behind and whip the bails off, catching Weatherald inches short of his crease. Weatherald run out (J Richardson/Josh Inglis) 83(47) [4s-10 6s-3]
14.2
6
Jordan to Weatherald, SIX, full and right in the slogging zone for Weatherald, he clears his front leg and hammers it for a 100-metre maximum over mid-wicket
14
4
Joel Paris to Carey, FOUR, width again and Carey's smashed that in the same region. Crouches low and slices the drive square on the off-side
13.5
4
Joel Paris to Carey, FOUR, plenty of width on this low full toss outside off, Carey bends his back knee and slams the chip-drive with an open bat face over point
13.1
4
Joel Paris to Carey, FOUR, low full toss wide of off-stump, Carey keeps his head still and spanks it through the extra cover region, the fast outfield takes care of the rest
12.5
4
Mitchell Marsh to Weatherald, FOUR, make that two in a row! No change in line and length, but there's a change in pace which Weatherald picked, only to repeat the previous shot and get it over the fielder backwards of square leg
12.4
4
Mitchell Marsh to Weatherald, FOUR, short and at the hip, Weatherald swivels and muscles the pull over short fine. No-one in the deep and that's an easy boundary for Weatherald
12.2
4
Mitchell Marsh to Carey, FOUR, short around middle and leg, Carey gives himself a lot of room and gets a thick edge on the the cut that flies past the keeper to his left
11.4
4
Fawad Ahmed to Carey, FOUR, Carey continues to pierce the gaps. Sits back to the shorter one and plays the cut late to get it squarer through backard point. Livingstone at sweeper desperately tries to get across but cannot
11.2
4
Fawad Ahmed to Weatherald, FOUR, more runs! Just clears the leaping extra cover fielder and it races to the fence. Weatherald is switched on the 'rampage' button now and the Scorchers better be on their feet. Sligthly short and skids on, he just backs away and whacks this over the infield
11.1
6
Fawad Ahmed to Weatherald, SIX, ruthless from Weatherald! It's raining sixes now. Sits back to the half-tracker and belts the pull, just wide of long-on for a flat six
11
6
Agar to Carey, SIX, does it again! This is a cleaner strike than the previous six. Makes room and walks down the track a touch before lofting this over deep cover. Went deeper into the crowd. Sweeper is squarer and Carey knew what he was doing. Clinical batting
10.4
6
Agar to Carey, SIX, how's this for a chip shot!! Wow! Wasn't full enough for the shot but Carey after backing away, decided to go through with the stroke. Key here was that he didn't overhit this, just ensured that he timed the stroke and sent it soaring over deep cover
9.3
W
Fawad Ahmed to Short, out Caught by Livingstone!! Much-needed breakthrough for the Scorchers. Skiddy drag-down from Fawad and Short couldn't control the pull shot as much as he would have liked. Ended up skying it high towards the deep mid-wicket region. The fielder there and long-on, both were converging initially but the former (Livingstone) rightly settled under the skier. Good take. Some respite for the visitors. Short c Livingstone b Fawad Ahmed 34(22) [4s-4 6s-1]
9.2
F
Fawad Ahmed to Weatherald, 1 run, gets across this time to sweep it away towards deep mid-wicket. Brings up fifty! Been a good summer for Weatherald domestically and he has started the BBL with a bang. Will want to convert this into a sizeable score
8.3
4
Jordan to Weatherald, FOUR, excellent shot! Weatherald is just peppering the field now. Short and wide, he cuts it hard through the vacant point region. Aerial but the man in the ring is behind square and can only see this bullet away to the fence
8.1
4
Jordan to Short, FOUR, was this intentional? Certainly not this fine but Short did want to slice this over backward point. Was quite full and wide, ended up getting a thickish edge that eluded a diving Josh Inglis to his right
7.4
4
Fawad Ahmed to Weatherald, FOUR, terrific shot! Slightly short and Weatherald sits back to slap this towards the deep cover fence. Sweeper was squarer and the southpaw found the gap perfectly
7.1
6
Fawad Ahmed to Short, SIX, this is a mammoth blow! It's gone deep into the crowd at second tier. HUGE! Picked up the googly early and slog swept this merrily over cow corner
5.1
Fawad Ahmed to Short, 2 runs, fuller and wider outside off, driven into the gap at deep cover
4.5
4
Mitchell Marsh to Short, FOUR, just past the diving Josh Inglis! Fortune for Short who charged down for a big loft down the ground but could only get an edge, a thickish one though and the keeper had no chance despite diving full length to his right. Runs continue to bleed
4.4
4
Mitchell Marsh to Short, FOUR, hammered away! This is poor from Marsh, offers another slot ball outside off and Short gets under it nicely to slog it over mid-wicket. Picked his spot nicely
4.1
4
Mitchell Marsh to Short, FOUR, the onslaught is now from both ends. Short joins in the fun. Marsh overcooks and this is lofted straight over his head. Trickles away to the fence
4
4
Joel Paris to Weatherald, FOUR, 20 off the over! Absolute carnage from Weatherald and he has transferred the pressure back on the Scorchers with this counterpunch. Paris errs on the fuller side this time, and Weatherald is ready for it as he sits deep in the crease. Blasts this straight back past the bowler and mid-on had no chance
3.5
4
Joel Paris to Weatherald, FOUR, there he goes again! Walks down once more, Weatherald, and pulls this harmless short ball with a little swivel. Well wide of short fine leg and it races away
3.4
Joel Paris to Weatherald, no run, dropped! Tough chance though! This was fuller and Weatherald belted it very hard, straight back at Paris who tried to get a hand on this but couldn't latch on to it. Harsh to be critical of the bowler here
3.3
6
Joel Paris to Weatherald, SIX, Weatherald is up awnd running now! A coup;le of steps down the track and swings this cleanly over mid-wicket. A fab pick-up shot and this should get him going
3.2
4
Joel Paris to Weatherald, FOUR, streaky runs! Weatherald was walking down the pitch for the drive but only got a thick inside edge that goes away very fine. This time to the left of Richardson and he had no chance on this occasion
2.3
4
J Richardson to Weatherald, FOUR, slashed hard! Short and wide, Weatherald throws everything behind this cut shot and ends up getting a thick slice that just clears a leaping slip fielder. Extra bounce probably undid the southpaw
2.2
4
J Richardson to Weatherald, FOUR, overpitched this time and Weatherald drills it firmly, straight back past the bowler and despite the long straight dimensions, Weatherald has enough power to get this to the fence
0.4
W
J Richardson to Philip Salt, out Caught by Jordan!! Gone this time! Another failure for Salt. Wanted to loft again, and is undone by the away movement once again. Miscued it straight up and initially, seemed to clear mid-off. Jordan the man there and treks backwards with his back to the ball. Takes a sharp catch. Philip Salt c Jordan b J Richardson 2(3)
