SUMMARY

Sibley John Snooke a.k.a Tip Snooke started his career with Border at the age of 17, he went onto play for Western Province and Transvaal as well. Snooke is a right-hand batsman and a right-arm fast medium bowler who played 26 Tests for his country. He also captained South Africa against England in 1909-10, he has a Test hundred against Australia and has also picked up 35 wickets at an average of 20.

Snooke had a long first-class career, he played 124 matches which is high for a South African and scored 4821 runs and also scalped 120 wickets. His brother, S.D.Snooke, also played for South Africa. Tip died in Port Elizabeth in 1966, aged 85.
