SUMMARY

Manjurul Islam Rana was a Bangladeshi cricketer who made his first-class debut for Khulna Divison in 2000 against Barisal Division. Steady performances at the domestic level earned him his ODI debut in 2003 against England. He dismissed Michael Vaughan on his third ball becoming the first Bangladeshi taking a wicket in his first international over. In less than a year, he made his Test debut against Zimbabwe. However, he did not impress in the longer format of the game and was dropped after The India series in December 2004.

In ODIs, he kept performing decently. He took a couple of 4-wicket hauls against Zimbabwe in the 2005, winning Man of the Match awards in both the games. He continued playing domestic cricket on the side.

Rana died in a motorcycle accident in 2007 at the age of 22, becoming the youngest Test cricketer to die.
