Pakistan collect the trophy and celebrate in front of the 'CHAMPIONS' board. They were beaten by India earlier in the tournament but had sweet redemption today. India will be quite devastated. They were unbeaten in the tournament until today but were completely outplayed come the big day. Still, whatever the result, this is only the beginning of the journey for all of these players. Farhan Yousaf | Pakistan Captain: We were happy we lost the toss, our plan was same, to bat first. Sameer Minhas played very well in last two matches. Not disappointed, it was a very good total, 348. Boys collectively performed, very happy. We lost the first match against India, management and support staff kept team morale high, they backed us.

Aayush Mhatre | India Captain: The decision was clear, they batted really well. It was an off day. They batted really well, there was some inconsistency in the line. Had an off day in the field, it happens. There was a simple plan, to bat for 50 overs. It happens. The boys played well, happy that the tournament was really good for us, there were positives, players stood up and did well.

Sameer Minhas | Player of the Match & Series: It was a good innings by me, only had in mind to score runs for the team. There was no such pressure for me, only wanted to play my natural game and did so. We wanted to bat first because it was like a batting track. Very memorable for me.

15:39 Local Time, 11:39 GMT, 17:09 IST: A thumping win for Pakistan, their first outright title in the Men’s U-19 Asia Cup and their first since being joint winners with India in 2013. They were clinical throughout, both with bat and ball. It began with an imposing total after being asked to bat first, as Pakistan piled on 347/8, led by Sameer Minhas’ scintillating 172. In pursuit, India made a promising start, collecting 32 runs off the first two overs. But the innings unravelled quickly after the loss of skipper Ayush Mhatre in the third. In an attempt to keep pace with the steep asking rate, India forced the issue and played too many ambitious strokes, leading to a steady loss of wickets. Reduced to 68/5 by the end of the Powerplay, they never recovered. The rest of the batting order offered little resistance, even as Pakistan shelled a couple of chances in the field. Deepesh Devendran’s late cameo only delayed the inevitable, as Pakistan sealed a massive 191-run victory.
