PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's it for tonight. We will be back with more. Do join us then. For now it's bye bye.
Rashid Khan | Player of the Match: Happy for the performance today. Especially for the win. The way we came from the last game, we had a win there as well. But unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. But today, it was just about making sure we do the right things. And as you mentioned, Powell, you know how stronger he is. But he came to me like last two balls. You have to do something different. And I wanted to bowl the long ball. And let's see if he goes for it. So, got the right result. I think it's good to be in the team where you have the experience and you have the new talent. And you're trying to share the experience you have, the cricket you played. And I think it's something like they give that kind of positive motivation. You're trying your best to give 200% in the field and sharing the experience. I think the way Naveen bowled in the death, Shepherd and Mendo, I think. And the way Ghazanfar bowled. I feel like it was just about the proper team effort, proper bowling effort. And I think the way we fielded, I feel like that was something which has given us as a bowling unit a good energy. We did enjoy. That's the kind of motivation you get when your teammates celebrate your success. And that's a feel like give everyone, everyone in the team a good energy. Not the guys inside the field, outside the field as well. It's the celebration. And that's a team effort. It's a family, it's a one team. And I feel like as long as you keep doing that it gives so much energy. As a bowling to me, like when he celebrated in that way my wicket, I got, like so much energy from that. And I tried to deliver the best moment. (any new delivery he has been working on?) Well, for me, it was my last game. I will head back to South Africa. But yeah, I'm trying my best to bring something new to the table. And World Cup is coming as well. And hopefully things will be okay. And I'll try my best to do a little bit things which didn't help me before. And try my best to make it perfect and do it in the games.
Kieron Pollard | MI Emirates captain: Yeah, we did. Obviously, we saw how they bowled as well. Even from the second over. Fizz bowled some slower balls. Bowled into the wicket. Bowled to the big side. David as well. So, again, we got a little bit of the things when we batted. And again, I just thought that at 90-odd for two, and losing the rest of our wickets for not many, I think that's unacceptable by all of us. (his mindgames) Again, it boils down to experience. I've been around a long time. I know some games, when it's close like that, the batters tend to relax a little bit, or a little bit of complacency tend to step in. So, if we can apply a little bit of pressure, and the bowl the balls in the right area, there's no point in having a guy under the bat and not bowling in the right area. So, credit must be given to the bowlers as well. I think for that, and the way that we defended the total, in the huddle, I just told the guys, to be honest, I don't care about the results. It's fine. But let's just give everything that we have. And I just thought they were brilliant. Words can't express how happy I am with the way that they defended. And, again, it's not two points where, as I know, we didn't have enough runs on the board. (on getting Powell out) Yeah, of course. When plans come together, you feel really, really nice. I know, Rovman, we were just chatting about it as well. I had one opportunity to go out and if you get that wicket you're still into the game. He's a powerful hitter. He can take the game away from you. And I know, again, some of his weaknesses as well. So, we took a chance, and it worked for us. So, hopefully he'll get better at those scenarios. And I know he will. And well bowled to Rashid in terms of executing what I said was a total team effort from the bowling unit and the fielding unit. (on Naveen) Yeah, of course. We brought Naveen in. He got one game in Sharjah. He bowled exceptionally well. And he hadn't got an opportunity after that. And that's the nature of our team in terms of, the guys that we have in the squad and on the bench. So, he came in. He did his part. You know, well done to him. Well done to all the bowlers. Well bowled to Rashid as well.
Dasun Shanaka | Dubai Capitals captain: We really bowled them out from the game. But still, we had some dropped catches which cost us some runs. Sometimes it went for the boundaries. So, we could have not gone for the boundaries. So, yeah, there were times we almost controlled the game, but very unfortunate. It was totally on our hands. But the wicket of myself, so I gave away my wicket. So, I see my wicket and Jimmy Neesham's wickets were crucial. And we gave away at the point where exactly they wanted the wicket. So, I think we gave away our win, actually. (on the dropped catches) I don't see any impact with the lights here. It is really good, the conditions. But it's totally dependent on the judgements. Maybe they had little errors in the judgements. So, yeah, it can happen. But it's a tough one to take away.
22:21 Local Time, 18:21 GMT, 23:51 IST: Hemang Badani, the head coach of DCP gets up and goes inside the dressing room. He won't be a happy man. This was a chase that should have been won with overs to spare but DCP have botched it. Credit to Pollard though - he got into the heads of the batters with his chatter and delayed proceedings when he needed to, slowed down the game and some bad cricket from DCP helped. Powell was done in by a googly, Shanaka missed a sweep and Neesham ran himself out. Cox was the anchor but a superb 19th over from Naveen saw him get out. Too many to get in the last over and Shepherd produced the goods to help MIE win. Pollard is pumped as he celebrates after the win with a roar and a fist-pump. DCP were cruising at 89/2 and then it all turned around. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...

A legal delivery will win it for MIE.

Shepherd to Willey, out Mustafizur Run Out!! 1 run completed. Full outside off, Willey drives to long-off and Mustafizur had to go back for the 2nd, is slow and the throw from Banton to Shepherd does the job. Mustafizur run out (Tom Banton/Shepherd) 1(2)
Shepherd to Willey, THATS OUT!! Run Out!!
Mustafizur is run-out. That should be it for DCP.
15 off 3, Willey on strike and that's what DCP need.

Shepherd to Haider Ali, out Caught by Naveen-ul-Haq!! Naveen with a diving catch at short third man. Length delivery on off, Haider Ali makes room to drive, the thick outside-edge flies, and Naveen dives to his left, initially wants to go reverse-cup but then takes it the conventional way, cleanly in and the third ump makes the call after a look. Haider Ali c Naveen-ul-Haq b Shepherd 2(3)
Shepherd to Haider Ali, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Has Naveen grabbed that at short third man? He is claiming it. They go upstairs to check this. OUT.
