PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's it from this one. We will be back soon. Bye for now.
Ryan Rickelton | Player of the Match: Yeah, awesome. Great win, great night out. Great partnership with Rassie. Always nice to do it at my real home ground, I guess. But yeah, a special night, just really stoked to get a win. (on his 100 celebration) I've had a bit of thoughts. I was actually thinking about, I don't know, live celebrations recently. I saw KL Rahul do it in the IPL. Probably when he was in between teams at the moment, just letting everyone know that he's there. So I don't know why that was at the top of my mind, but it just came out the way it did. I suppose maybe I thought about it going into the game or maybe these last couple of weeks. So it probably was an emotional outburst at the time. But yeah, it was just the one at the front of my mind. I remember his celebration quite vividly. Today was a bit slower. I think a lot more circumspect. I think setting a total is very different to obviously, chasing 230, where you've got to pull the plug quite early. We're fortunate we got a good start. Rassie took a lot of pressure off me. So it allowed me just to kind of ease into my game. I got a few away. And then I had a bit of support at the end in different times. So I was nice. I was able just to tick along, I suppose. I wasn't ever searching for 100. I mean, if I got to 70-80 and I got out, I'd be okay with that. But you get a couple away at the end and suddenly you get the 100. So yeah, it was awesome just to obviously get over that line. Very diferent, probably a bit more calculated this time. (on getting a reprieve off a no-ball) Yeah, like I said, I was probably okay trying to pull the plug and getting out 70-80. I'm not really too worried about getting out. Just trying to make the right decision. Obviously, a bit of luck went my way. I knew the guys were under a bit of pressure, the bowlers. So had the opportunity, two free-hits today actually to try and put them under. And when I was on 95, I said to Karim, I said, I think it's my day today, I'm going to go for it. So if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. So obviously, always great to get the opportunity to come back. You get them very few and far between in cricket. So I'll take whatever luck I can get at the moment because it never runs for too long. (on batting here) It's tricky. It's different though. A lot of experience, the more you use a wicket, we found that actually gets a little bit better. I think the important thing is, I try to get inside the ball and not try to force it. If you can use the square boundaries to your advantage and pick up length quite early and quite well, I think you can have a decent amount of success here.
Rashid Khan | MICT captain: Two back to back wins for us and it's good momentum for the upcoming three games. Super happy, everyone is contributing and we look forward to keep this momentum continuing. Well, to be honest, we had that discussion that we are gonna bat first, but one message was very clear to everyone. Let our skills decide the game, not the toss. And I feel like that was something which you are already there. I think that you would have bowled first as well. You would have come with the same mindset, intensity, and give all our effort there. And I feel like we got the toss in and then to bat first, I feel like that was a plus point for us, but still coming and playing good cricket, I think that's something which was so important and that was a demand from everyone. Well, in T20, you know, it's always you start well. Sometimes in the middle, you collapse a little bit, but it's just about how you finishing. And I feel like 230-plus was a very good total on this wicket. And we had that in the mind. Anything 210-plus, I feel like it's going to be a good total on this wicket. And the bowling unit we have, it's just about making sure we hit the right area and bowl with the variations. And I feel like the length and the line will be very important. As long as we're hitting that, any total will be good for us to defend. Yeah, we had a very slow start and it happens. You know, sometimes you do have all the great players, but it doesn't go your way. Everything goes against you. But it is happening now and we got that kind of momentum. And I feel like the more the senior players are taking the responsibility and finishing the game, I feel like that's very important and everyone the rest is contributing.
Donovan Ferreira | JSK acting captain: (on Faf's injury) I'm not really sure. Obviously, it must be quite serious that he didn't come out to bat. But, yeah, I think the medical team will assess him and then see what happens in the next game. Yeah, I think he is a big miss. He comes with a lot of experience at the top of the order and as a leader in the team. So we definitely gonna miss him if he doesn't play the next game. But, yeah, we'll see as it comes. Yeah, I think, you know, they batted really well. I think they got 20-30 runs too many. And, obviously, we got quite close over there. So I think if we're chasing 200-210, it would have been a bit easier chase for us. But, yeah, all credit goes to them. They batted really well. (on Forrester) Yeah, I mean, that's a special knock, I think, even though, like you said, it was in a losing cause. But for him, you know, it just boosts a lot of confidence. It just builds him as a player. I mean, he just shows the world what he can do. So I think that's massive for us going forward. And, you know, for him as well, going through the last three games in the group stage, I think that builds a lot of confidence for him, especially if Faf's not available. Yeah, I think we just need to put it behind ourselves. We had really good momentum, like you said, the first three games. Rain delays and, you know, games not getting completed due to the weather. It's not in our control. But I think we just need to learn from our mistakes and get better. You know, this tournament is a quick turnaround, so there's not a lot of time to dwell on our mistakes. But we're pretty calm at the moment. Three more games and that's what we're going to focus on.
21:19 Local Time, 19:19 GMT, 00:49 IST: Easy win for MICT. No Faf and JSK slipped to 35/3 but Vince was batting so well at the other end. The scoring rate though kept on increasing and Linde got Vince with a good delivery. Dian Forrester showed his talent and finished with an unbeaten 80 off 42. He ensured JSK didn't lose with a bonus point. Rabada was the pick of the bowlers, he bowled with pace and fire. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...
