21:12 Local Time, 19:12 GMT, 00:42 IST: Right then, the match has been abandoned due to inclement weather. Play got interrupted due to lightning, and the conditions have not improved since - time for some more covers on the square. The weather forecast was not promising from the start of the match, and although some cricket was possible earlier in the evening, the persistent poor conditions meant a result could not be achieved. As a result, both teams will have to settle for shared points. The Joburg Super Kings did well to post a challenging total, but the weather ultimately played spoilsport. In the larger context of the tournament, the abandoned result doesn’t change much, with the points table remaining unchanged. That's all from our side tonight folks. We'll be back tomorrow for the live coverage of the Durban's Super Giants vs Sunrisers Eastern Cape clash. See you!
20:48 Local Time, 18:48 GMT, 00:18 IST: The conditions haven't improved in Johannesburg as our wait continues. Not the most encouraging signs..
19:48 Local Time, 17:48 GMT, 23:18 IST: Play stopped due to lightning is the latest update from the Wanderers Stadium. Stay around for all the updates..
Nqobani Mokoena: It was my first game here at the Wanderers, so it wasn’t easy, I won’t lie. I was just trying to adapt, but things didn’t really go my way today. We knew they were trying to target the shorter boundaries. So I had to be smart and take responsibility, stick to the plan, and try to stay one step ahead. They (Joburg Super Kings) know these conditions well at the Wanderers. The boys are more than capable, so I back them fully.
19:35 Local Time, 17:35 GMT, 23:05 IST: That’s a strong finish from Paarl Royals - just 42 runs conceded in the last 5 overs and that could well prove to be a defining phase of the game. There was a delay early in the 19th over due to a floodlight failure, which clearly put the brakes on the Joburg Super Kings’ momentum. Before that interruption, they were charging along nicely. Faf du Plessis and James Vince gave them a flying start, racing to 64 in the powerplay. Vince carried that momentum forward, stitching together another 50+ partnership with Matthew de Villiers. However, Vince’s dismissal for 75 in the 17th over proved to be the turning point, breaking the rhythm just when acceleration was needed. 187 is still a big total on a surface that isn’t a belter, with plenty of assistance for spinners and slower deliveries. But the big question now is the dew - that could play a major role in this chase. Back soon..

Viljoen to Akeal Hosein, FOUR, Hosein ensures there's a boundary in the over. Still a good over under the circumstances, just 6 runs. Back of a length delivery, but it was the width that allowed Hosein to loft through the line, mid-off fielder was inside the ring and he cleared him comfortably

Viljoen to Ferreira, out Caught by Lhuan-dre Pretorius!! There you go.. Wicket straight after the delay. That too the big one of Ferreira. Still 10 balls left and the Super Kings have lost their finisher. Viljoen continues from round the wicket and angles it across, Ferreira looks to slam it down the ground and gets it off the toe-end, the ball straight up and Lhuan-dre Pretorius settles under it, takes a good catch.
