Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 3 wkts
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Dwaine Pretorius

First match at home and Guyana Amazon Warriors kickstart with a win against TKR who are already through to the playoffs. There was more help for the spinners in the first innings and Trinbago struggled in the middle overs. Dew played a role against Pooran's men in the second innings but they fought till the end. Trinbago have now lost two on the bounce while GAW have back-to-back wins. On that note, it's time to bring the curtains down on this cracking game of cricket. Until next time, it's goodbye...

Tahir: It was an exciting game. We bowled really well. The last 4 overs weren't ideal for us. Only Pollard can do do what he did, so we have to appreciate it. We knew 160, we needed a good powerplay. We lost two early wickets, but glad, Shai has always been our main guy. They way Hettie and he played today, obviously a good example for the youngsters. On (McDermott) I think he's fine, hoping that he will be fine tomorrow. We always appreciate the crowd, make effort to come every game and support us, credit to every Guyanese wherever they are. This is purely for them. We try to play a brand of cricket what we've been playing previous years and this year as well. (On Pretorius) He's been in good form with the bat and he's been bowling really well in the last two games. I am really pleased he's got the habit to finish games and I hope that he carries on in the future games as well.

Pooran: Brilliant game of cricket. Kudos to Guyana as well, they bowled really well in the powerplay. It was a little tough for us. Kacey and Bravo, that partnership was outstanding and the way Polly came and finished gave us some hope at the end. I think 168 was a really good score on this pitch. We were really happy to defend this but we disappointed ourselves in the powerplay after getting two wickets. We got into the game again with Sunil and Akeal there but we let ourselves down towards the end. T20 cricket is really difficult, CPL is difficult. Conditions play a massive role in that, the toss as well plays a massive role. We need to understand and accept that. The guys fought till the end which is for me the biggest thing. We are going to be coming back here. We'll take all the positives to Barbados. As a group, we understand that we are not going to win every single game and it's not going to be easy. We are looking forward to that Barbados leg. He (Amir) should be fine.

Dwaine Pretorius | Player of the Match: I love playing for them (Guyana Amazon Warriors). The crowd came up again tonight and I am really glad we could win tonight. Always great to beat TKR, they are a really strong side. Really happy with that performance. (On his 3 sixes) I tried to stay calm. Hope's innings was unbelievable and it's always tough in these conditions. Unfortunately got out but he played really well. Moeen bowled awesomely today and overall, it was a great team performance. TKR is a very strong team, we know that. Polly (Pollard) came in today and played a great knock. We pushed them hard today and we'll see where we seem them again. He (Pollard in the final over) was making me wait, so I thought let him wait as well.

22:53 Local Time, 02:53 GMT, 08:23 IST: A tense finish and the home team prevail against a strong TKR side. Chasing a tricky total, Guyana Amazon Warriors lost both their openers cheaply. Shimron Hetmyer batted aggressively and he along with Shai Hope ensured that their team were ahead of the rate at the end of the powerplay with the score reading 66/2. The duo stitched an 83-run stand for the third wicket and kept their team in a good position. Narine broke the stand and the Warriors stuttered a bit. Hope notched up his fourth fifty of the season but he fell to Narine in the latter's final over. With 38 runs needed off the last 3 overs, the game was in the balance. Although he removed Romario, Russell conceded 19 runs off the 18th over and that turned out to be very expensive. Pollard, who played a blinder with the bat to take TKR's total to 167, was summoned to bowl the final over with the home team requiring just 9 runs. Pretorius showcased his hitting prowess and smashed his third six of the match in the final over before Motie hit the winning run.

19.5

Pollard to Motie, 1 run, 107.6kph, low full toss, Motie walks forward and chips it through wide mid-off. Guyana Amazon Warriors win by 3 wickets with a ball to spare in front of their passionate supporters

Equation: 1 run | 2 balls. The field comes in for Motie

19.4

Pollard to Pretorius, 1 run, scores level! Short of a good length at 112.1kph, Pretorius shuffles and works it to deep backward square leg

Equation: 2 runs | 3 balls. Pollard stops and gives the non-striker a warning who leaves his crease early. Boos from the Guyana crowd

19.3

Pollard to Pretorius, SIX, biggie! Pace off from Pollard, Pretorius waits for it and clobbers it over deep midwicket. That's a monstrous six. The GAW players in the dig-out are cock-a-hoop

Equation: 8 runs | 4 balls. Fine leg and third man inside the circle

19.2

Pollard to Motie, 1 run, 117kph, fullish length ball, swung down to long-on for a single

Equation: 9 runs | 5 balls.

19.1

Pollard to Motie, no run, over the wicket, slower ball, off-cutter, Motie clears his front leg to heave it away and misses

Kieron Pollard, right-arm medium, comes into the attack

Equation: 9 runs | 6 balls. It's not going to be Russell. Pollard, who played a blinder with the bat, will bowl the final over

18.6

Nathan Edwards to Motie, 1 run, 125.6kph, in the blockhole, Motie goes hard on the drive. A single to long-off. Russell attacks and fumbles but the batters don't risk the second

10 needed off 7 balls. Will Motie go for the big shot?

18.5

Nathan Edwards to Motie, 2 runs, 126.9kph, low full toss, flicked through midwicket for a brace

18.4

Nathan Edwards to Motie, no run, 126.5kph, very full outside off, Motie drives and there's a sound as the ball goes near the bat. No appeal from TKR though. UltraEdge confirms an outside edge
