PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Jason Holder

After two close losses, the Patriots finish off their home campaign with a win. They now move to the 2nd spot on the table. That's it for the CPL action for today. We will be back later for more. Do join us then. For now it's bye bye.

Jason Holder: The character of the boys. Tough loss last game against Trinidad and the boys were excellent. The morale of the team has been pretty strong, young Bidaisee has been excellent. Nedd coming in for the first game has been doing well. (on the crowd) Just a lot of love and they come in day in and day out to support us. We have given them stress as well, two wins at home and we are moving in the right direction. New franchise for me and getting the team over the line speaks volumes about my character as well. Hopefully we will get a win over Antigua as well.

Rovman Powell: It's disappointing to throw away a game like this. The middle-order did not bat well, basically it was six or out. It was a wicket where we had to stay. We did not bat well, hopefully we do it next time. Disappointing that we let go of two games, that we should have won. It was a good cricket wicket, we would have taken 175. We did not field the way we should have - two games in a row now. Young Simmonds did well which is encouraging.

Jason Holder | Player of the Match: A damn good win. obviously we had a few tough games. The boys believed and we stuck in till the end. We got so many options in our bowling department and it is about being a bit more selective in decision-making. Trying to have a clear mind and not being tentative (talking about his improved batting consistency). I think so (if the captaincy brings the best out of him), I enjoy what I do and the boys make my job much easier.

22:32 Local Time, 02:32 GMT, 08:02 IST: Holder with a leader's performance to take his side home. The game looked lost when Sams was there but Holder kept his nerve and finished it off, with a four-fer. The Royals' top-three got in but did not go big. King and Alleyne looked very good but they fell at the wrong time and regular wickets gave the Patriots hope. The Royals had a long batting order with even Simmonds capable of striking them big. Naseem Shah with a couple of crucial wickets including that of Powell which was big. Then it was the turn of Holder who came up trumps. The Royals will be disappointed at not finishing it off. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff...

Holder to Warrican, out Lbw!! The impact and wickets are ump's calls and that will do for the Patriots. Length delivery and nips back in to off and middle, Warrican shuffles across and misses the flick, hit on the kneeroll on the pad, the finger went up and Warrican reviews. The luck with Patriots as the impact and wickets go with them. Otherwise Warrican would have survived. The Patriots win a thriller. Warrican lbw b Holder 4(5)

Holder to Warrican, THATS OUT!! Lbw!!

Given out LBW. Warrican reviews. Gone.

18.1

Holder to Warrican, 2 runs, full outside off, Warrican gets forward and flicks through backward square-leg for two

17.6

Naseem Shah to Simmonds, no run, beautiful yorker, but wide of off, Simmonds drives and misses

17.5

Naseem Shah to Simmonds, SIX, wow. What a blow. This isn't over yet. A slower-ball off-cutter on a length around off, Simmonds pulls flat and it's over wide long-on, that's not the shot of a number 11. Picked the length so well and early

Naseem Shah round the wicket.

17.4

Naseem Shah to Simmonds, FOUR, my word. Full on middle, Simmonds gets forward and thrashes the drive, wide of cover and mid-off, that is a fine shot

Ramon Simmonds, left handed bat, comes to the crease

17.3

Naseem Shah to Eathan Bosch, out Bowled!! Rip-roaring yorker on off and middle, Eathan Bosch fails to squeeze it out and the stumps light up. That tailed back in late and went under the bat. Superb stuff and no wonder Naseem Shah is running away to celebrate. Eathan Bosch b Naseem Shah 8(8)

Naseem Shah to Eathan Bosch, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!

17.2

Naseem Shah to Warrican, 1 run, good length outside off, Warrican tries to cut and the thick inside-edge goes past off-stump, Salamkheil gets across and cuts it off from fine-leg

17.1

Naseem Shah to Eathan Bosch, 1 run, short of length on the stumps, Eathan Bosch goes on the back foot and punches a single to long-on

Naseem Shah [3.0-0-20-1] is back into the attack

16.6

Holder to Eathan Bosch, 1 run, length outside off, Eathan Bosch knocks it through the vacant mid-wicket area for one
