David Wiese: Very excited, big shoes to fill, Faf has laid a brilliant foundation for the franchise in the last five years and I will try to follow in his footsteps. Defending the title is difficult but we are up for it and we will give our best. The dynamic of the team is almost the same, we have a couple of new faces in the team.
Imad Wasim: We are going to bowl first, it has been raining pretty much all day so want to make use of the conditions. The groundstaff is using the blower to dry out the concerned areas on the pitch. Now both the captains, Imad Wasim and David Wiese, are having a chat with the umpires.
Pitch Report: As I look at the surface, there are a few areas of concern according to the umpires and the blower will be out shortly to dry those areas up. We are on the same surface as last night. Talking about the ground dimensions, it’s 60m to my left and 66m to my right and it’s a 75m hit down the ground. We can expect a lot of seam movement as we saw in the last game at this venue. I expect it will be a little challenging with all the moisture around, the grass is quite wet so it will wet the ball, it will be challenging for the bowlers and the batters also have to find a way out. The team batting first will aim to score around 175 runs which is the average first innings winning score here, reckons Daren Ganga.
