Teams:
Australia (Playing XI): Usman Khawaja, Sam Konstas, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Travis Head, Beau Webster, Alex Carey(w), Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood
West Indies (Playing XI): Kraigg Brathwaite, Brandon King, John Campbell, Shai Hope(w), Keacy Carty, Justin Greaves, Roston Chase(c), Jomel Warrican, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales
Australia have won the toss and have opted to bat
Windies have Brathwaite, Hope and Alzarri Joseph to bank on for experience. But they also have fresh faces who would be raring to go. Shamar Joseph had blown the Aussies away on a spicy Gabba deck. He would want a good bowling track for the lightning to strike again. Seales is another potent bowler who can nip it around if the condition permit. The batters from both teams would be under pressure to deliver and that would make this an interesting game of cricket.
On one hand Australia have an inexperienced batting line up but on the other they have one of the most potent bowling attacks in this format. The quartet of Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon have dethroned the best in the past with their skills. Their powers are waning is the word on the block but one would take them lightly at their own peril because as they say form is temporary but class is permanent.
Chase and his side have a massive chance here at home. It has been ages since Windies won a series against Australia at home. But the Caribbean side would look to rewrite history a little. It is a new look Australian batting line up barring the usual suspects - Khawaja and Head. And it might be the chink in the armour that the home side will look to take advantage of.
09:01 Local Time, 13:01 GMT, 18:31 IST: Hello and welcome to the first Test between West Indies and Australia. Australia have some healing to do. They just lost a final. They aren't really used to it. They have rung in a few changes as well. A few changes made. A few they had to because of injury. West Indies aren't the best red ball team for sure but they sure can compete at home. They have a new captain as well. They would be eager to prove a point.
